Ciel would be enraged enough by his tardiness, and if asked he couldn't lie about what he had been doing. He hoped the little Earl would ask, if only to see the fear in his exposed eye as he explained in detail why he was late. The thrum of fear through the contract would certainly be worth it; as tempting as it also would be to indulge himself in that moment for just a taste.
