He glances to the side, jerking away from the far-too-close face beside his.
“Slime, you’re scaring him,” beanie-man says. “Hey, kid, you alright?”
“I’m not a kid,” he snaps, before he clamps his mouth shut because that’s a stranger talking about mouth bones. Tubbo may claim Tommy has no survival instincts, but he’d like to beg to differ (and had, including bribes of school food and chocolate milk).

Summary
Hybrid support groups in the children's home are stupid, and nothing will change Tommy's mind about that.
Except- well- there's Wilbur. He'd never talked to another bird hybrid before, but something about the moody older boy fascinated Tommy, in the same way Purpled, a moth hybrid, had appealed to Tommy when he first walked through the doors of the care home. Maybe... maybe the support groups wouldn't be that bad.

Summary
Essempi Academy gives out a free scholarship in a lottery every semester. Tommy hates the academy lottery, especially when stupid names like Wilbur get pulled from it.
When Wilbur gets accepted into a prestigious academy through a lottery his roommate's son entered him in, he doesn't expect to make so many enemies. Unfortunately, one of those enemies is Dream--a professor who controls the life of one of his closest friends, Tommy. When Wilbur discovers he might not just be a kid left on an orphanage's doorstep, he and his two roommates find themselves stuck between controlling adults and a conspiracy concerning the royal family.
Maybe it was good he befriended Tommy after all.
