Summary
Nicholas rolls his eyes, the corner of his mouth pulling upwards into—and Euijoo hates to say it, because it sounds like a fucking cliche, and he is so not that kind of boy—but it’s a smirk. Wang Nicholas is smirking at Byun Euijoo. “All of my friends know each other,” he says, slowly, leaning forward. “And their friends know each other too, ad infinitum. So I need someone outside of that group, since they’d all know immediately that I was lying if I showed up with someone they knew. You get me?”
“You need me because I’m boring,” Euijoo summarises. “And because nobody knows me.”
“Something like that,” says Nicholas, and he looks way too casual for someone who’s asking another boy to fake date him.

Summary
“Tell me to leave,” Euijoo finally says, words dripping with barely stifled emotion. “Nicho, tell me to go.”
But Nicholas has always been a slave to his hunger. It was the thing that pushed him thousands of kilometers from home, wrung the last of his childhood dreams out of his soul, landed him on his best friend’s doorstep even after he’d spent the last three excruciating months trying to let him go.
Nicholas, dealing with the aftermath of being abruptly cast out of the fashion industry he’s dreamed his whole life about, ends up having to crash at Euijoo’s. His heat ruins things, and then some.

“Yeah, why not,” Nicholas says with a laugh of his own, slumping back into his seat with crossed arms, a satisfied cat. “I wear a couple dresses and skirts and whatnot; you tell your uncle your girlfriend can’t speak Korean and then, boom. You and I get to live it up on the beach… Besides, I know how much you miss it there.”
He clears his throat, but his voice cracks anyway when he adds, “What kind of best friend would I be if I didn’t do this for you?”

I would like to put my roots down where Euijoo is also, Nicholas would probably reply, if he was being really honest with himself, if he dared to speak those words out loud and have them become true in that way. I bloom most splendidly whenever he is looking at me, after all.
or: You’d think that Nicholas would have this whole being in love with your best friend thing figured out after six years. Euijoo kissing him complicates matters.

“Everyone was going off about how they’re always hooking up with each other, and it pissed me off that everyone thinks I’m some like… Never Nude… Prude Dude,” Euijoo admits sorrowfully.
“Uh huh… and the dick and balls came out… why?” Nicholas probes.
Euijoo shrugs. “Seemed like a good idea at the time.”
“Right,” Nicholas says again, his tone flat.
“You seem upset,” Euijoo observes, watching the fluorescent strobe lights dance over the sharp planes of Nicholas’s face.
“Just seems like that should’ve been a Best Friend thing,” Nicholas says.
OR: Euijoo discovers all his fraternity brothers have been sleeping together behind his back. Has he been so clueless this whole time? What else has he been this clueless about? Maybe his feelings for his "Best Friend"?

Nicholas swallows. Nods. He hops onto the chair, scooting back so he’s not slouching. “It’s not the needle, necessarily. It's the… puncturing?” He squeezes one eye shut after the word leaves his mouth. His charm output is clearly lacking tonight.
Euijoo hums, dropping into a stool. He rolls over to get his tools set up, looking up through his lashes at Nicholas. “The penetration,” he says seriously.
