Soap followed his line of sight to the floor. The vial that had been in Ghost’s hand was now on the ground, smashed open, its contents in a puddle at their feet. A soft vapor coiled up between them and Soap instantly felt a little dizzy.
"Oh, this is not good, Johnny."
"What is it? Some kind of poison?" Soap took a step back, starting to panic from the concern Ghost was relaying. And that lightheaded feeling was only getting worse.
Ghost shook his head and hooked a finger in his collar, swallowing thickly. "No. A sex drug."

Ghost and Soap stumble upon one of the Las Almas Cartel's drug labs trying to escape from the Shadows. They get much more than they bargained for when a vial of a new powerful drug on the market breaks open at their feet. It's going to be one long fucking night.

He may be from the island, but he spent most of his childhood in Athens. For all the stories of virgin sacrifices, he's not heard or seen anyone being taken. The smell of death here suggests he was wrong, or he's not the first Thomas promised clemency to.
His life was to be forfeit regardless. Here, he stands a chance. Slay the beast, return with proof—it's head, but any part will do—and his crimes are forgiven.
In which John follows his path, both hunted and hunter of the beast that stalks these halls. That's all Simon is. Isn't he?

"Close now. Remember the rules?" Ghost talks loud to be heard, but his voice rumbles low and deeper through him than the engines and their repetitive noise, an edge there that Soap can’t put his finger on, reminiscent of how he sounds when Price tightens their leash.
"There are no rules," he echoes their earlier conversation, but relents as Ghost narrows his eyes. "Forty-eight hours. I'm late, I fail. I'm caught, I fail. I die to some random animal attack or 'cause I break my ankle, I fail and ye won't come find me. That about it?"
Soap has some things to work out. Ghost is happy to help.

It had been two months, three weeks, and five days since Dante and Vergil returned from Hell after severing the portal to the demon world and arrived unceremoniously on the doorstep of Devil May Cry. Longer still had been the wait between them leaving and reappearing, which had taken six months, three weeks, and eighteen days.
For those two months, three weeks, and five days, Arcade had been struggling to approach Vergil. In his mind, he was constantly trying to rationalize why this man was seemingly so different from V, the person he had known prior and fell in love with. It felt as if Vergil was an entirely new person and V had been replaced completely- But he knew that couldn’t be true. Hell, he saw firsthand V reunite his dying body with Urizen after carrying the man to the deepest depths of the Qliphoth tree with Nero, he saw V become Vergil.
But if this was fundamentally the same person, why did he feel like a stranger had taken up residence in the room next door? Who was this man he let into his heart, and when did he plan on asking if he still felt the same?
