It is the final day of the siege of Suchdol. Judgement Day, some would call it later on. The Praguers' camp had been razed to the ground by reinforcements arriving from Rattay: with Markvart dead, the rest of their forces flee.
Yet, despite being taken back, no victorious hymns echo through the fort. Mortal silence falls upon them: in the heart of the inner courtyard, Sir Hans Capon of Pirkstein kneels, unmoving, on the blood-soaked ground. No words reach him—no hands are strong enough to pull him away. Those who try to approach him cross themselves: the young lord is blind to the world.
It is only Father Godwin’s prayer that breaks through; his palms shaking, spread over Hans’ head: Pater noster, qui es in cælis, sanctificetur nomen tuum; adveniat regnum tuum. Fiat voluntas tua.
Fiat voluntas tua, he repeats, and waits.
Sicut in cælo et in terra, Hans finishes, his voice breaking. He raises his eyes for the briefest moment—as Godwin kneels down to gently pry his hands away.
Henry’s body in his arms is already cold.

It's going remarkably well, until one of Whitebeard's men seems to take a special interest in aggravating Law at every opportunity.

Summary
There’s something about Trafalgar Law that makes Smoker lose all integrity and common sense, something that keeps him hopelessly addicted to this thing they’ve got and keep coming back to. As much as Smoker tries to convince himself that he’s got the situation under control, Law keeps finding ways to knock him off his feet until he’s far, far too gone.

____A very pretty little speech. Nice and unhinged. Unfortunately, Smoker knows exactly what Law’s trying to do.
Law’s afraid. Terrified, even. So much so that he’d rather make empty threats to shove Smoker away than admit that there might be something between them, something that could be good. Even Smoker willingly meeting him halfway isn’t enough to ease the burden of that fear, nor to soothe ache of scars that must run far deeper than he had guessed.

Summary
After purposely sending Issho to Dressrosa instead of someone more obedient, Smoker and Tashigi are exiled to a backwater ranch island, a punishment badly disguised as undercover work. It's boring as hell, which leaves Smoker plenty of time to think about how what happened between him and Law on Punk Hazard was probably a one-time thing. He's sort of almost convinced himself, too, when one morning, an unusual ship docks at the island's singular port.
If he listens very carefully, Smoker can hear the sound of fate laughing directly in his face.

The sun shined into the chamber next morning, much to Mihawk's joy; he would be very depressed if the weather on Gloom Island continued its usual stubborness after such a night. But soon he found something more depressing: Zoro was not at his side, and he could hear the sound of him already training in the yard. Mihawk lay back in bed and sighed in annoyance, covering his face with a hand. Unromantic, stupid little prick.
__Writer really understands the Hero's Journey and the dynamics between the 2 genders. Writing is good at exploring this.
