All the baffled looks follow Buck’s encouraging one. Eddie squints his eyes when he finally speaks.

“Well,” Buck said with a wince, “your date that night flopped, so obviously not.”
“I didn’t even kiss her, Buck!” Eddie protested.
“Not my problem.”
“You’re so annoying.” Eddie inched closer, his hands coming up to seize the front of Buck’s shirt. “C’mere.”
