Summary
Shane freezes.
It hits him all at once; how exposed he is, how alone. On the ice he’s done it a hundred times, likely more. It’s expected of him, Applauded. His arms feel heavy at his sides, fingers numb, like they don’t belong to him, and he doesn’t understand why. The man infront of him is swaying so hard a stiff breeze could knock him over, so why? Why is Shane so scared? Why is he so-?
The stranger must see it. Whatever bravado the man walked out with curdles into something mean when he realizes Shane isn’t going to swing back. Fear is blood in the water. Shane's thoughts are scattered, looping: he’s so far from home. He’s alone. So far from home. Don’t get hit. Don’t get hit.
The man draws his fist back. No penalty.~
Shane gets into an altercation outside a bar after a visiting win. Ilya intervenes. Neither of them are happy about it.

**this fic IS byler, but it's written into the story in a realistic way that makes the story and especially mike's character make much more sense. him, will, and especially el, deserved so much better.
plot holes and (most) of our grievances will be fixed in this story.

But now, eight months after Vecna has ruptured a giant rift through the town of Hawkins, that threat is about to reemerge. Unaware of Vecna's true plans and trapped under a military quarantine, our heroes will not only be forced to face the greatest evil from the Upside Down, but also overcome impossible odds, in order to save their town, and each other, one last time.
Written in a SCREENPLAY format, this fic operates as a diverging conclusion for the final season of Stranger Things.

Ilya got up then, walking over to Shane's side of the lounge so he could nestle his hand into the boy's dark hair, for the sake of eye-contact. "Ah, I hear you are great at giving interviews but I don't believe it. No, cannot be true. Sweet Canadian boy only has a tongue for his boyfriend, hm. Is that what it is?"
Shane flushed at the condescending choice of words, eyes watering as he looked directly into Ilya's wolfish expression. "I don't, didn't mean it," he tried, head slumping forward to land on Ilya's shoulder as he grew steadily hard under his sweatpants.
"Oh, so you are too fucking stupid to say what you mean, I get it," Ilya plastered a grin as he added, "Is my baby too slow to use his words? Or is the great Shane Hollander just dumb hockey player?" Ilya cooed, tightening his grip as he stuck his thumb into Shane's pliant mouth. "I think I will have to do the talking for both of us, tell the press you can only take my dick now. Is all you're good for."

Max arches a brow. “Carlton, though? You two are dating and you don’t even kiss? Is it just a preference thing?”
Will sighs, resigned. He drops his hands. “Okay. Honestly?” He hesitates, then shrugs. “He was a bad kisser. And I just… couldn’t get excited around him. At all.”
The reaction is immediate and merciless. Dustin makes a dramatic gagging noise. El gasps like she’s been handed gossip gold. Lucas high-fives Max, shaking her hand in his.
Mike doesn’t say anything. He just watches Will, watches the way he shrugs it off, the way he laughs a little too loud, the way his ears go red.
Or, Will's new boyfriend is a bad kisser. Mike thinks it's a crime that no one has kissed Will properly. He's on a goal to change that, Carlton be damned.

I wrote this at like 3:00am based on a dream I had. So.
.Mike was touchy, it was just in his nature.
Maybe that's why, when Mike reached out, hands cupping his own, leaning in close, a murmur of “I miss you, Will. I miss us,” all Will did was squeeze back, the way he always had.
It started off the same as always, something unintentional that Will could brush off, accident touches that slowly grew into something friendly, platonic, normal. The occasional nudge of an elbow to his side, a long look and a hand reaching out to grip his shoulder. Simple. Friendly.
But now?
Now Mike couldn't seem to be able to keep his hands off of him.
It was driving Will crazy.

Summary
Will needs a date to his mom's wedding. Mike volunteers.
“I have an idea,” says Mike.
Ice cubes form in Will’s stomach. “How dangerous is it? Like, should I call Dustin to talk you down, or should I call Nancy to be ready to drive us to the hospital?”
“No,” says Mike, “you can’t tell anyone or it won’t work.”
“Or what won’t work?” Will asks. It’s like picking up a rock you know a spider will be under.
Mike gets up and closes Will’s door. Hopper doesn’t make them keep it open but sometimes Will does anyway, because every now and then lying around alone with Mike on his bed just makes his chest ache too much. If the door is open he can tell himself You can’t do anything right now, someone will see.
Mike leans back against the door. His eyes are lit up with that special maniacal gleam that the Wheelers get right before they do something insane, like when Nancy says, “Then we have to go kill Vecna ourselves,” or whatever. “Take me to the wedding,” says Mike.
“Yeah,” says Will slowly, “you’ll be at the wedding. Obviously.”
“As your date."
