"I know it is a misunderstanding, Mike. I apologize for misreading the situation. And it's okay if you don't want to be friends anymore. I understand. It's okay, really. Now, let go.”
“What? No? No. That's not it. That's not it at all!” Mike's voice sounded incredulous and he seemed to be panicking a little.
Will stopped to break free and reassuringly patted the other's arm. “Hey. It's okay, really. I get it.”
Mike was struck speechless, his mouth opening and closing like that of a fish. Finally, he heaved a sigh, “You're such an idiot. You don't get it at all.”
Just as Will had opened his mouth to berate Mike for calling him an idiot, he felt a warm sensation covering his lips, he instinctively closed his mouth. His vision was filled with messy curls on a wide forehead. Mike had bent down to kiss him.

“I’m a kid. You can’t leave me alone. That’s unsafe.” Megumi counters, pulling the phone away from his ear. His argument might have done more to sway Suguru if his voice wasn’t so deadpan.
“I’ll leave you with the guards. They’ll look after you until your dad gets there.”
“I can’t talk to strangers.”
“What am I, then?”
“That was an emergency. Also, you’re not a stranger anymore.” Megumi blinks. “You’re Suguru.”
Suguru fights the urge to slam his head against the pole in the middle of the train carriage. Instead, he says: “Can I talk to your dad?”
Megumi loses his dad on the train, and finds a certain tall, raven-haired man instead.

The boy regards Mike for a moment, trailing his eyes over his face with an intensity that warms his cheeks, “D’Artagnan will not harm you,” the boy says gravely.
Mike’s cheeks redden further, caught off guard, “What?”
The boy frowns glancing quickly at the shield before meeting Mike’s eyes once more, “The dragon. D’Artagnan will not harm you,” and then as if he had not just said the most insane thing he possibly could, “but I suggest you set up your camp in a safe location anyways. The woods can be dangerous at night.”
