Lemme know if the tags are used incorrectly.]Unable to take the truth, Sunny jumps off the hospital roof and lands with a sickening crunch. But instead of going to hell, he wakes up in a familiar, comfortable bed, with a second bed beside him. He checks the calender - it's the day before the recital. A second chance, perhaps, to fix everything?
Mari is alive, Basil is his old happy self, Hero still does the best pancakes, Kel makes up stupid puns while Aubrey hits him with an eggplant. To Sunny, after what he's been through in his old life, it's almost heaven. But is everything *really* as rosy as it seems? Well, maybe Sunny isn't exactly in a state to judge either.

Said siblings watch on, unseen, each eager to correct their own mistake. But how can they possibly help when nobody can perceive them? Is it even possible to help, at this point, even if they could reach out?

Summary
It's not easy having no friends AND being queer while living in a religious town, so Basil and Aubrey have it rough when they start fake dating to cover for their own identities. However, things might change for both of their lives when some new people turn up at school.
For Sunny and Mari, moving to Faraway from the city is a pretty big change. But perhaps it's one for the better.

Sunny’s ears blaze red with the truth, and Basil’s hand presses against his mouth. From a distance, through the pelting rain, it looks like he’s trying to hide a budding smile. In truth, he’s covering up the twist of his mouth, keeping the ugly secrets on his tongue at bay, if only so Sunny can see that Basil is happy for him, really and truly.
He won’t be a bad friend. He can’t be a bad friend, because if a friend is all Basil can be, he’s going to try his damned hardest at it.
