She’d had to marry him anyway in the end, so the whole thing ended up being just a waste of time.
Hermione kept her gaze trained on the door for a long moment before turning back to him, still unsmiling. “Let’s just get this over with.”

Only, not quite, because crushed between Erotic Concoctions for the Perpetually Cock-Blocked and Racy Recipes for Rigorous Romance is a slim black volume with no title or call number on the spine. Lily digs a finger in and pulls it out, flipping open to the title page, which is handwritten in neat, tiny cursive: I Will Possess Your Heart by Lady Voldamour.
She reads the first couple of sentences. The feeling she gets when she does… It’s odd. Like a shiver. Like someone touched the tip of her scalp and traced their finger lightly down her spine to her lower back, lower even. But like under her clothes. Maybe even under her skin.
OR: Tom Riddle falls for a girl at Wool's Orphanage, seduces Sirius's uncle, and writes a romance novel that possesses Madam Pince and the marauders.
