Summary
Troy knew his fans were pretty split down the middle. There were the fans that loved him for his hockey, saw him as a good young man who knew what he stood for and always appreciated him ‘not buying into all that crap’. But then there were the younger fans, the ones Troy wanted so badly not to disappoint but did every year, because they wanted representation, even through coloured tape on sticks, and Troy still couldn’t give them that.
He didn’t need the extra attention on his sexuality. He knew he could get away with it, using pride tape didn’t make you gay, but every time Troy even considered it he felt his chest grow tight.
Someone else could be their idol. They didn’t need Troy. He couldn’t.

“I can make it down a corridor,” He said, pausing by Eddie’s side and taking his outstretched hand when he didn’t lower it. Eddie hummed quietly, relaxing once Buck’s palm was against his own.

“I don’t understand why, though” Really, that had been tripping Buck up. They’d wholeheartedly believed that he and Eddie were what, together? Married? He’d gotten quips before that they argued like an old married couple, but he hadn’t thought it was to the degree of getting hate crimed for it. “I mean we aren’t…”
Hen went silent for a moment, and that brought Buck’s attention back to her more than anything else.
“What? What are you-“
“How are you feeling about it all?” Hen cut in. It was only because Buck really, really didn’t want to delve into his dynamic with Eddie that he let the diversion go.

Summary
Eddie pressed a cotton pad soaked in disinfectant tight against the wound, and while Buck had been through far worse, it was easier to show his pain around Eddie.
He let out a short cry, leaning forwards slightly and grabbing onto Eddie’s shoulder before he could spare it a second thought. He needed something to hold onto, something warm and steady and real to remind him he was okay.
“I’m sorry, I know,” Eddie soothed him quickly, and clearly went to pat Buck’s hand but found himself with no free limbs. He glanced about for a moment, then lowered his head to press a quick kiss to the back of Buck’s hand. “Almost done, then you can sleep”

On their way home to LA after the events of
the kidnapping, Buck and Eddie stop to tend to each others wounds, mental and physical.
