The party all go their separate ways for college, Mike stays behind in Hawkins. Haunted by Eleven's death and ...repressed feelings
Mike isolates himself from his friends for over a year before finally deciding to confront the things that keep him up at night.
Mike decides to visit Will at school in Chicago. He doesn't stick to their plans and runs into Will... and Carlton at a club. Needless to say this causes... issues.**The first few chapters are shorter, and mostly backstory to fill in the blanks in between the end of S5 and the beginning of my story!**
This is a byler love story, but it will be angsty and very very slow burn, there will be smut eventually. Your patience will be rewarded! ;)
UPDATE: Thank you all for the love! This story gets pretty dark but at the end of the day this IS a Byler LOVE STORY. These two Will have a happy ending... eventually ;)Series

She checks again, and yeah, Will is holding a stuffed bear, not a cat. The beloved Tiggy stays firmly attached to his bag, so they aren’t playing with tigers, either.
“So they go back down the mountain, and now all the village people are asking them about the crystal, and Rory is sad thinking they didn’t get it that whole time, but then–”
“Meow. Meow,” Will declares, removing the teddy from the dinosaur’s back and making it do some sort of interpretive dance.

“I don’t hate you, Mike,” Jonathan said quietly, and the words sent revulsion threading through his veins. Mike let out a choked noise, trying to pull away, but the arms stayed locked around him, caging him in place even when his shaky hands came up and tried to push him away. His breaths were quick and tight and he couldn’t do this, couldn’t let Jonathan hold him like this, like he was something to be cherished.

Mike had a hand laid gentle and soft on Will’s shoulder, staring at him with a mournful sort of expression. “Did he do it again?” He said lowly, looking deep into Will’s eyes. Dustin frowned, sent a confused glance to his other friend, who also shrugged. Do what again, he wondered.
Then, “Do what again?” He asked, because Dustin had never had a particularly good degree of control over what he said.
_____will doesn't show up on time to the party's hangout, so they go to his house to pick him up. when they're there, though, they can hear yelling. and will's dad is a pretty scary person...
