Summary
“What, are you worried about lil ole me?” He teased with that smirk that usually had her itching to punch him in the gut and kiss him at the same time. Right now, though, it only doubled her anxiety. It was lopsided in a way that wasn’t playful, and his eyes were unfocused behind the squint of his smile.
“A little, yeah,” she admitted, perhaps a little too easily. Vash blinked at her for a moment, then reached for the back of his head with that sheepish grin he always wore when he was shown some small kindness.
She expected him to brush her off, tell her she didn’t need to concern herself with him, or worse, apologize for making her worry- but he did none of that. Instead, his smile curled into a grimace and he flinched away from his own touch. He dropped his hand and his smile returned as he said something to Meryl but she wasn’t listening.
Because his hand was smeared with blood."
Or, Vash gets bonked on the head, Meryl freaks out, and they have a difficult conversation about how much they mean to each other.

Summary
"Miles gritted his teeth, glaring at the expectant furrow in Wright’s stupid eyebrows. “I‘ll simply contact Gumshoe and let him know I need a ride to the hospital.”
Wright rolled his eyes. “Yeah, no, we’re not roping Gumshoe into this. It’s like a ten minute walk to Hotti Clinic from here, I can manage.”
Miles was still deciding on what to protest- the fact that Wright intended to carry him down the road in full view of the public, or the fact that the absolutely wretched destination was Hotti Clinic- when all of his cognitive thought ceased to be as he was lifted into the air."
Or, Edgeworth can't stop noticing how strong Phoenix is which opens up a whole new reason to fall in love with him all over again.

Summary
“Ach, what time do you wake up anyway?” He asked, tone close to casual, but the way he was watching Apollo from behind his practically untouched wine glass was most certainly not. Apollo would’ve realized it then if it hadn’t been a Friday night with the entire town crowded into the saloon. He really would’ve, trust. But alas, with half a bottle (that he was supposed to be sharing with Klavier, mind you) in his system, there was no helping his critical thinking skills.
“Eh, I’m up around 5:30. Get started with chores at 6:00,” he answered thoughtlessly. Klavier made a face, which would’ve been strange at any other time, but Apollo failed to think of it as anything other than adorable.
“Gott, that early?” He huffed, apparently disgruntled by his tendency to rise before the sun.
“Well, the farm is getting bigger,” he defended with a tipsy little smile. “Just be glad you’re not the one dealing with hungry chickens first thing in the morning.”
Oh sweet, sweet irony."
Or, Klavier decides to surprise Apollo by doing his morning chores for him and Apollo goes a little bit insane. (The return of the stardew valley au nobody gives a gaf about)

Summary
"Meeting Rohan Kishibe was similar to sitting through a film adaptation of a good book. You watch in horror as Hollywood takes a story with a very establish plot and completely surpasses your expectations with how badly they ruin it. It was impressive really, how quickly Rohan was able to kill a conversation. Kakyoin had been enthusiastic about his manga, asking questions about his plot and characters and creative writing process. But dear lord, talking to that man was like having a conversation with a brick wall. And yeah, that sucks, but Kakyoin wouldn’t take it personally. Not if he was like that to everybody. But no, Rohan was most certainly not like that with everybody.
So here Kakyoin was, watching in utter shock as a man who had just brushed past all of his question with the blankest expression he’d ever seen on a human, leaned across the table with an easy smile to spout nonsense about the cafe they were seated in. To Jotaro. Not to the table, to Jotaro."
Or, Rohan wants Jotaro REAL bad and Kakyoin is sick of his shit.

Summary
“Back off?” Klavier echoed, incredulous. “What’s that supposed to mean?” Apollo huffed.
“Dude you were quite literally all over me. I could hardly breathe,” he muttered. Klavier grimaced.
“Why didn’t you tell me to stop? I promise you, I would’ve,” he returned, looking genuinely ashamed.
Now that was the million dollar question, wasn’t it? And Apollo, like an idiot, was answering it before he even thought it through.
“Because I didn’t want you to.”
Or, Klavier gets drunk at the WAA New Years party and Apollo suffers the consequences

Summary
It only occurs to her as she’s straightening up, Millie’s red tie hanging from her hand, that Vash really hasn’t left. When she turns around, their eyes meet; Vash had been staring at her. His glasses are off, hanging from his collar, revealing stark, electric blue. Meryl hadn’t forgotten the colour—could never forget anything about Vash, no matter how hard she’d wanted to try at one point—but they’re still so breathtaking in person.
Meryl swallows. “You’re still here.”
“Well, I like you,” Vash responds. “And you’re not filming me, so I’m not sure why I’d leave.”
“That’s how it is, huh?” Meryl smiles.

When Meryl and Vash finally get a moment alone after all is said and done, Vash gives her something that he's been meaning to give her for years.

Summary
With no further recourse beyond double texting—which goes against her principles—Meryl plops herself down on the couch and runs the material through her fingers. It smells like him, the coat does. Vash uses a mild cologne, a sort of woodsy scent Meryl has never had the courage to ask the name of. When Meryl presses the neck of the coat to her nose and breathes in, she can pick out Vash’s laundry detergent, his fruity shampoo, another slightly sweet underlying smell that Meryl can only associate with Vash.
She then pulls the jacket away, because she’s probably being weird. Smelling her friend’s clothes. It has a good heft in her arms. It’s leather after all, and larger than any of the clothing in Meryl’s closet. When she sits forward and pulls it on, her arms are completely engulfed by the sleeves. The coat itself swallows her, reaching almost down to her knees. Not that that’s unexpected. Vash is a big guy. But it’s something else, being faced with the tangible proof of that fact, when Vash usually keeps her at such a distance.
Now Meryl is definitely being weird.
---
Vash leaves his jacket at Meryl's apartment. Meryl responds to this as anyone would.
