Namjoon stared down at the carpet to steady himself for another round of translation. The famous red carpet. Why was it red? Was there a significance to it? Namjoon filed that away as something to Naver later. What was the origin of the red carpet? Kings, maybe. Kings and Queens and other such monarchs and their court, he theorised. Does that mean they are the kings here? It certainly didn’t feel like it.
It felt more like they were fresh meat, thrown to salivating wolves with those wicked sharp teeth.
Or: Namjoon wants to fall down, but Seokjin is there to catch him and prop him back up.

As Marinette weaved her way through the pavements to Lycée François Dupont, she brushed past a little old man, nearly sending him to the floor. Apologising hurriedly, she helped him to right himself and set him back on his walking cane. He smiled gratefully at her, thanking her, before disappearing into the crowd.
She was left no time to ponder his seeming disappearance. Hearing the bell ring from across the road, Marinette slapped her hand to her forehead, cursed under her breath, and broke into a sprint to get to class before the second bell.
A little black box jostled in her bag as she ran, its red inscription glowing.

Summary
Sixteen-year-old Luo Binghe was merely looking for a forest critter to amuse his master with when he discovers the baby, half-frozen in a basket by the river. Shen Qingqiu, who cannot conceive of denying his white lotus disciple anything, ends up accepting responsibility, and takes up single parenting as a side gig.
Thus begins the silent war between Shen Qingqiu, sleep-deprived and increasingly confused, and Luo Binghe, aspiring teen parent, looking to drop out of school to become the disciple who stepped up (...or not).
