Jotaro can’t bite back a smile, pressing even closer, moving to wrap his arms around Kakyoin, fingers pressing into the discs where his spine meets his neck.
“Jojo,” Kakyoin chuckles, “you’re so clingy.”

Of course not. And Lance would very much like to keep it that way, thank you! Keith already doesn't want anything to do with him ever since coming back from that space whale; the last thing Lance needs on top of his crumbling self-worth and shaky standing in the team is a rejection that shatters his heart in pieces, too.
But now, Lance got himself in a bit of a pickle. Which is fine, because Lance has a plan to get out of it! A wonderful, brilliant, masterful, completely fool-proof plan. His team won't look at him like he's more incompetent than they already do, he won't have to spend the rest of his life trapped on some alien planet, and Keith will never find out just how head over heels he is for him. It's a win-win-win situation.
Of course, with Keith, things are never quite so simple, and Lance's plan soon causes a domino effect that changes the entire course of his life.

Frankly, he finds physical contact with other people to be repulsive. He’s seen the statistics on how many people actually wash their hands after using the restroom, and they’re disheartening enough for him to write off unnecessary touching as a solid no, thank you. It’s not worth it, not to him.
He hates shaking hands, flinches away from pats on the shoulder, cringes at the thought of pressing against someone on public transit. Even as a child, hugs from most family members left him craving at least a change of clothes before he could continue his day.

Newt sighs, as if his weight is comforting, and Thomas lets his forehead fall to meet the blond’s. Tension melts out of his body as Newt brings his arm all the way around Thomas, pulling him closer yet.
He’s warm, and in the dark it’s all Thomas can do to respond in turn, wrapping an arm around him so they’re flush against each other. He can feel his heart beating, slow and steady against his chest, and when he lets himself bury his face into Newt’s neck he feels it jump, just a little. All he wants to do is make Newt feel better. If he feels safe, then Thomas feels safe.
Or: the first night in the Scorch after having escaped the Cranks and hiding under concrete rubble, Thomas seeks out comfort from Newt.

They say that when you are about to die, your life flashes before your eyes.
But most of Newt’s life was long gone. Lost to far, unreachable corners of his mind. There was nothing of his childhood, of his parents or the family he may have had. Nothing beyond the last 3 and a half years.
And yet, that brief window of time was all he had, and all he was. He did remember. Perhaps not his past, but his life. It had gotten him to this point, and looking back, it was enough for an entire lifetime -one much longer than his.
So as he felt the knife pass cleanly between his ribs and felt Thomas’s arms hold him tighter than they ever had, it was not the city he could see from over his shoulder, nor the inky blackness seeping over his vision.
With his last breath held on the tip of his tongue, and all the strength his mind had left over the disease, he felt the memories wash over him.
