Summary
Several quiet beats pass between them. Far away, the ruckus of the rest of the League echoes into the night. Everyone always goes buck wild after these meetings, all riled up.
Dabi holds his hand out. In the shadows it’s hard to see his face, even with Hawks’ eyesight.
“Light?” He offers again, flicking his fingers together. A tiny blue flame pops into existence in his palm and dances against the dark. It’s…sort of beautiful. Like a miniature star.
“…Yeah.” Hawks nods minutely and bridges the gap, stepping closer. He dips the cigarette into the small fire and lifts his hand to shield it from the wind.
Dabi shakes his head. “It won’t go out on its own. Don’t insult me, Birdie.”
Hm. Hawks isn’t sure if it’s the funny nickname or the first breath of nicotine, but he gets a head rush.
“Thanks.” He says, blowing out a cloud of smoke. Warmer already.

Or, where Hawks and Dabi start out as nothing, and turn into something, over time. It's complicated.

Summary
“Yeah, what’s new?” Katsuki pokes the fragmented gauntlet. “Can you fix this for tomorrow? I’ve got work at eight AM.”
Izuku deadpans.
He takes a big breath and crosses his arms.
And Katsuki isn’t fucking looking at his biceps again, he’s fucking not, fuck off.
“I just fixed your gauntlets, Kacchan. Like, last week. What did you do this time? These are expensive, y’know!”
“Maybe if you made better shit they wouldn’t break so often.”
“Maybe if you came for maintenance more often like I told you to, they wouldn’t break so often.”
“I’m busy.” Katsuki shrugs.
Izuku gripes like he’s fed up with him (he’s not) and starts picking up the disjointed pieces.
“Ugh, these are wrecked.” He holds one up close to his face and scrutinizes it. “It’s gonna take me all night.”
“You’re here anyway, aren’t you?”

Summary
They’re quiet for a minute, and when he looks up, Deku is watching him. Katsuki swallows, forcing it down, for fuck’s sake. Now’s not the time, it’s never the goddamn time. There will never be a time. Even if Deku’s eyes are so, so green.
“Still sky-high on morphine?” He teases. “You’re like a space case.”
Deku laughs a little, and Katsuki begrudgingly aches at how much he missed it.
“I am grateful, Kacchan. Thanks for saving me...Like you always do.”
Katsuki’s hand twitches on the cup. He bites his tongue, holds it an extra second before something stupid bubbles out uncontrollably. Staring at these four walls for days, mostly alone with Deku, has made him weird, sort of sappy, undeniably weaker. Not physically, but metaphorically. Like, in the knees or something.
He can’t imagine more of this. He has to be fucking careful. He draws a wobbly line in the sand and tells himself not to cross it.
“That’s right.” He digs into his pocket to pull out his phone for a distraction. He can feel Deku’s eyes on him, still, probably paired with a mushy, ridiculous smile. “Gonna start charging you for it.”

"Five days since Steve’s accidental outing. Five days of pretending to act completely normal like he wasn’t having a coronary.
They hadn’t really talked about it again. Because Eddie refused to let it be a big deal. He didn’t want Steve to freak out. But now everything was…magnified, intensified, exaggerated. Like now, he was hyperaware that their thighs were touching as they sank into the fabric.
Five days of really cold showers.
Steve shifted, threw a leg into Eddie’s lap to be more comfortable. Because it had never mattered before, because they were close friends, because physical contact was not an issue. Because Steve wouldn’t pop a fucking boner with his roommate sitting on him."

In other words, it's senior year at the University of Indiana. And Eddie just found out his roommate of four years, his best friend, the guy he's head over heels for--likes dudes too. -

Steve put his hand to his earpiece again and repeatedly tried to call for backup. There was no response.
“God, I hope everyone’s okay. Fucking sucks.” Steve groused.
“Well, come sit back down. You’re wasting your energy.” The back and forth was stressing Eddie out, but he didn’t want to say that.
“And what, pray tell, am I saving it for, Munson? Waiting here?”
Eddie rolled his eyes. “I dunno. When you have to inevitably fireman-carry me out of this place. Or when Henry Creel shows up and we have to take him down.”
Steve snorted, paused, then frowned. “Do you think he will?”
“Um, yeah, most definitely. That’s why we aren’t dead, Steve. We’re lab rats.”

Or, the Party is made up of secret agents, and Eddie and Steve fall in love through the danger.

“Noya,” Asahi tells him. “Nishinoya Yuu.”
Suga smiles and Asahi knows he picked up on everything that was in his voice as those syllables moved softly over his tongue. “Cute name,” he says. “Maybe worth falling for, huh?”
Asahi doesn't miss the double meaning in his friend’s words, and he doesn't say no.'

Asahi wants the earth to swallow him whole when he accidentally crashes into tiny Nishinoya Yuu while riding his bike. He remains unsure of his stance on disappearing off the face of the planet after Noya asks him out on a date. But with the (somewhat aggressive) encouragement of his best friends/roommates, Asahi takes one small step forward, and soon finds himself doing a lot less hiding and a lot more living than he ever thought he could.

Summary
In hindsight, Suga can identify a number of guilty parties involved in the manufacturing of his own personal quarter-life crisis. He blames himself for his willingness to take a joke just a little tiny bit too far; he blames Daichi for having such nice, muscular thighs; he blames online women's lifestyle magazines for doling out questionable relationship advice to impressionable youths; he blames Kuroo for being, well, Kuroo.
Mostly, though, Suga blames his own inordinate love of hot chili oil and Daichi's inability to comprehend exponential functions, because somehow, improbably, the collision of those two innocent variables is what kickstarts this whole mortifying situation in the first place.

Summary
This is not an international booty call, no matter what Ryuu says. This is a buddy backpacking trip along the French Riviera, totally platonic, and because this also happens to be Asahi's first time traveling outside of Japan, Nishinoya has already decided that (no pressure) this trip must be absolutely one-hundred-percent-plus-shipping-and-handling perfect. Asahi is going to have the time of his life, whether he wants to or not.
(But hey, if the natural romantic magnetism of the Riviera just so happens to prompt Asahi to fall madly in love with him? And if Nishinoya just so happens to do everything in his power to nudge that process along a little bit? Well...)

Summary
Hawks is a very good spy.
He’s managed to charm the entirety of the PLF at this point. Twice regularly refers to him as a good guy, and he means it in the best way. Toga asks him to braid her hair often; they eat odd snacks together and talk about the intricacies of blood in ways that the HPSC wouldn’t appreciate, but he’s never been one to avoid using any tactics he can to get an in. He and Spinner bond over different heteromorph struggles. He even met Shigaraki once, briefly, in the bar, before he fucked off for his four month soujourn to evolve like a pokemon or whatever, and he seemed to like him well enough.
He and Dabi have… this.
