Summary
Giorno breathed in and said, "If you'll forgive my honesty, right now I'm actually contending with a curiously strong impulse to push you up against this door and kiss you on the mouth."
Mista's heart, robust as it ought to have been, might have skipped a few beats just then. He definitely stopped breathing for several seconds, and the lack of oxygen was no help as his brain frantically attempted to comprehend the words that he had just heard Giorno say.
Giorno finds a new desire awakening in him, and Mista is more than happy to indulge him.

Summary
Lyrics for the Finrod-zong rock opera given in the original Russian Cyrillic, transliteration, and English translation. It's the Beren and Lúthien story but with a focus on Finrod's part in it.
Chapter 1 is indexed to the 2014 lyrics; chapter 2 should be accurate for any more recent versions (2022 onward for sure, likely 2019-2021 Finrods as well).

Summary
Caleb had caught Essek's attention immediately.
And ever since, this strange little neglected attraction has been bothering him. He initiates a mutually beneficial arrangement upon realizing that Caleb's interests match his own surprisingly well. A purely physical, transactional deal. That would be fine, if it were not for the dangerous implications and weaknesses.
Or for those many in-betweens when Essek is far too interested in what's beyond the boundaries of their agreement...

Summary
This is a rationalist and effective altruist take on the Last Herald-Mage trilogy, inspired by HPMOR, r!Animorphs: The Reckoning, and other works. From a starting point of "what if the characters were trying to be reasonable?" and "what if Leareth was a human being with real, complex motivations, rather than a cartoon villain?" I am seeing where it goes.
Meta note: this fic is accessible regardless of whether you’ve read canon. It starts out a little slow, and book 1 is kind of a different genre from book 2 onward. Additional warning that book 2 onward gets pretty dark and this doesn't really let up. There will be 11 volumes.
Major themes include the complexity of thinking about ethics, the challenge of taking on problems in the world that seem insurmountable, and trying to do good while dealing with serious mental health issues. The characters do not start out masters of rationality, but they do learn from their mistakes and grow as people, and do their best to help support each other.

Summary
There was already an oath that controlled elves before the one Fëanor made in YT 1495. One that drove the Eldar from Cuiviénen and gave them hope for a new life; one that enabled the Valar to exert greater control than ever before; one that took all semblance of choice and control from fourteen elves in return for the greater good.
"Then Manwë said to the Valar: 'This is the counsel of Ilúvatar in my heart: that we should take up again the mastery of Arda, at whatsoever cost, and deliver the Quendi from the shadow of Melkor.' Then Tulkas was glad; but Aulë was grieved, foreboding the hurts of the world that must come of that strife." (J.R.R. Tolkien, The Silmarillion)
Fifteen elves swear to bear children for the Valar in exchange for the protection of their race, and thus the Maiar come into being. This story follows the ramifications of that choice from the Years of the Trees through the Fourth Age of Middle-Earth.
