Summary
Dean, a professional photographer, is taking photos at the Fourth of July parade when he spots an old man with striking blue eyes across the street. Dean follows him, but before they can speak, the man falls down and dies with his hand in Dean's.
Dean feels responsible, and seeks to learn more about the old man, retired doctor Castiel Novak.
Dean discovers that Castiel once owned Dean's house, and comes to find an old camera amongst his things. When he takes his own portrait, it sends him hurtling back fifty years to 1962 where he meets a young, handsome, Cas.
They can't help falling for each other. But Dean can't stay in 1962. His connection with his brother, Sam, pulls him back to 2012. Determined to see Cas, he uses the camera to return, but each time he travels to the past, it takes a greater toll on his body.
Eventually, in order to stay with the man he loves, he has to make a heartbreaking choice.

Dean Winchester is living the dream. He's the proud owner of Rocky's Bar and prouder boyfriend of Dr. Castiel Novak. He lives with his boyfriend in a cute house and gets to watch his spectacular ass do yoga every morning. He's successful, he's happy, he's in love. He hasn't told Cas that last bit, but he knows.
Then storm clouds roll in, and the dream starts to fall apart.
One turn of bad luck turns into two, three, and more, until he's living his worst nightmare: Cas is gone. Again.

Summary
The walls bleed black again, and Castiel is deposited back into the room he was snatched from in a far more undignified manner than he left it.

His face is hot when he pulls the beer away from his mouth, a rising sense of panic fluttering in his chest. He has thought these things, known them, of course, but it feels so different now because Dean will know. He is going to look at Castiel and know exactly how he feels, what he thinks. That is...distressing.
Perhaps Dean will avoid it. He is very good at doing those things. When faced with something he simply doesn't want to acknowledge, that's his first method of handling the situation, and Castiel is sure that it will go this way again. He is banking on it, in fact.
It will be fine. He has Jack. Sam will be here, a welcome presence and a perfect buffer.
It's all going to be fine.

Summary
As a phlebotomist with the Red Cross, Castiel has donors, not patients, and given donation protocols spacing appointments out, it typically takes a year to call someone a regular. Castiel bonds with his coworkers instead, and he stays over with his best friend and godson almost as often as he goes home. There's little exciting in the day-to-day, but routine is no hardship.
A new part of that routine comes in the form of a talkative if nervous man named Dean, whose pulse races every time Castiel takes it. Dean often flushes and looks uncomfortable, although he covers it up with jokes, teasing, and a ready smile. It makes his consistent, fortnightly platelet donations all the more admirable, but for some reason, Dean only looks even more nervous whenever Castiel brings that up.

"Dean," Cas says calmly, gingerly sitting his fork down, and oh, this is gonna be a thing, Dean can tell. Sure enough, it is because Cas goes on to say, "What would you think if I suggested we get married?"
Dean blinks and swallows the food in his mouth, staring at Cas curiously. "I would think...you were either on drugs or going insane, why?"
"I'm not inebriated, nor mentally unstable."
"I—I…" Dean takes in a deep breath, then blows it out heavily. "Cas, you're not fucking with me, are you?"
"I'm not," Cas tells him.
"Okay," he says, "fuck it, let's get hitched."
"Thank you," Cas murmurs sincerely, then picks his fork back up and goes right back to eating.

And since they’re both bored and neither of them are in a relationship (because they don't do relationships), why not try to get out of their ruts by having roleplay sex with each other? Sure it’s a little different, a little wild, but that’s the point. They both need something completely out of their comfort zones to break them out of the humdrum of hookups and the bar scene, and they trust each other enough to commit wholly to the process. When they’ve scratched the itch, they’ll go back to their usual ways.
But the more they take on new roles, the more they shed old ones, leading them to evaluate who they really are, who they want to be, and who they want to be with.
This is a story about the roles we play, the friends we play them with, and becoming real.

Summary
Happy ending, my ass, Dean thought. He ended up in Heaven, but it wasn’t any better than his crappy life on Earth. Cas, who apparently was pulled out of the Empty and remade Heaven just for him, didn’t even greet him when he arrived.
But all roads, it seemed, led to Cas, and when they met again, they both had some things to say and wrongs to right.
And when they did, Dean found that maybe a truly happy ending was possible for him after all.
