The thing about aviators is they’ve got something wired in them different. Wired wrong, maybe. Like a switch got flipped. There is something inside them that sees danger and makes them barrel headlong into it going 1,000 miles per hour.

Hal’s got that same switch as his dad did, but sometimes he thinks his is even worse. Permanently dialed up to 11 and always on. Neither of his brothers got it though. They both settled down and didn’t break their mother’s heart. Good for fucking them.

Hal Jordan’s fiancee dumped him over email and now he's stuck babysitting a useless billionaire. Awesome. Great. Cool. Things are really looking up. What could go wrong?

mostly short character studies i found interesting about hal, bruce, or / and their relationship. they can be read without prior knowledge of the comics since most aren’t tied to a precise timeline, but you might miss some references.

The colony of seals didn’t usually bother Hal whenever he was working, so he paid them no mind unless he was trying to get one to move out his way.

How was he supposed to know that finding one of their pelts would trigger a whole-ass situation he was totally unqualified to deal with?

T’Challa is already shaking his head before M’Baku even finishes. “We have always been equal, brother.” He says, trying to invoke their shared lineage and history. “Wakanda has always respected the Jabari's choice to be self-sufficient, but...” He trails off, at a loss for words. “I believe there is a bridge where my father only ever saw a chasm.”

“A bridge,” M’Baku echoes, incredulous. “I didn’t realize that you were an accomplished poet, such lovely words.”
