Summary
The deafening sound of bells clanging together pierces the calm of the night. Ashe yelps, startling so hard he accidentally pulls Annette’s hair from how he was carding his fingers through it in post-coital bliss, and Annette herself startles so badly she nearly falls of the bed entirely-- also not helping with the hair-pulling thing.
“Ow, Ashe! What’s going on?” She cries, her words a little slurred. They’d gone a bit long and a bit hard earlier that evening, and she’s not quite recovered.
“No idea,” he replies, breathless. His heart feels like it’s about to drop out of his chest. He frantically reaches around the side of the bed and pulls up a tangled mess of clothes. He unloops one shirt and throws Annette the other. It hits her in the face.
“Ashe!!”
“Sorry, sorry!” Another horrifically loud bout of ringing sounds out, and Ashe pauses tugging his boots on. He listens for a moment. “I think it might be that new fire alarm system Dimitri had installed the other week.”

The problem with being friends with someone for such a long time, approximately eight billion years, and going through the apocalypse with them to boot, is that you may start to develop a tiny, itty-bitty, eensy-weensy little crush on them. And that wouldn’t even be too bad, no, Lucas could live with that.

The man is harder. His eyes squint at him. He feels like the man doesn't like him so much but the woman keeps petting him and scratching that one spot he can't reach so he forgets about the man and doesnt even struggle when he feels something click around his neck.

“Come here, kid.” One of Robby’s hands catches Dennis’s and lands against his sternum, trapping his arm against his chest, while the other stays in his hair, fingers winding into damp curls. Dennis’s attention is everywhere and panicked. He catches a flash of Perlah readying the needle and a desperate sound punches out of him.
“Nope, don’t look at that,” Robby says, using the hand in his hair to force his head back, angling his vision away from the commotion and up towards him. Dennis’s eyes lock onto his, pupils blown wide. “Look at me. Yep, good. I’m right here. You’re doing so good, honey. Just keep those eyes on me.”
The IV tourniquet snaps into place and panic flashes anew in Dennis’s face. ”Robby—”
“I know. It’s just Dana and Perlah. We’re just pushing some fluids, no more drugs. You’re safe.” Out of the corner of his eye, Robby can see Perlah speeding through what has to be the fastest IV placement of her career, Dana keeping her grip on Dennis’s hand to stop him from jerking away. Dana shoots him a glance of warning and Robby tightens his hold. “Okay, quick poke now. Still just us. Deep breath, Dennis. I've got you."

“Are you two trying to bone Luffy?” Nami asks, two nights later around a late game of poker.
“Yeah,” they chorus, sat by dim lamplight, crumpled bills, lingering crumbs of a rich chocolate cake, and utter failure. Spoiler alert: it doesn't stay a failure.
Or, Zoro and Sanji get the hairbrained idea to get Luffy in on the action. This succeeds, eventually. Perhaps a little bit too well.

He mutters a curse under his breath, lifting the fish again, just to make sure that he didn’t miss a blade hiding under it, but the answer is… no. There’s nothing. Not even a stupid paring knife. Only the kitchen counter and Sanji’s own broken dreams.
And the worst thing is, it’s not even like there aren’t other blades on the ship. Zoro might be way too emotionally attached to his swords, especially the… well, the white one, but he doesn’t judge a blade by its length, and he has adopted a few nice daggers as time went by, and those are actually there to be used by the entire crew as needed.
True, Sanji hasn’t seen a single one in a while, but…
Oh.
Of fucking course.
The crew must have lost all those daggers before coming for Sanji’s dear darling knives.
Which, obviously, ruins Sanji’s perfect plan to at least go retrieve one of said daggers and use that to cut up the stupidly large fish that’s sitting on his counter.
Which means that the only blades on the ship that are currently sharp and easy to find…
Oh.
Of.
Fucking.
Course.
