Wherein Jiang Cheng finds that Lan Xichen is not doing well in seclusion while on a trip to the Cloud Recesses to discuss some developments and the carelessness of the Gusu Lan's elders and his own protective streak has the Jiang Set Leader monitoring Lan Xichen's condition himself. But as time goes on and the two get closer they realize their feelings are not as cut and dry as they may seem.

Summary
Lan Xichen is a broken man no longer able to trust his own judgement. Jiang Wanyin was broken long ago, and he healed... badly. The cultivation world is off-balance, and it hasn't gone unnoticed.
In the middle of an icy winter, a comet appears in the sky. Is it a warning? A celestial dragon? Have the gods, weary of waiting for cultivators to sort out their own mess, decided to take action?
Over the course of three seasons, the two sect leaders are forced closer as they attempt to appease the gods and rebalance their land. Perhaps, in the course of their adventures, they will also find a way to rebalance themselves.
TLDR: In which a fiery plot device in the sky forces two lonely, broken men to sort their shit out and find everything they'd been lacking in each other.

Summary
The spiral of his thoughts drained him further. The fire of determination had been snuffed out within him and Jiang Wanyin was out of reasons to keep on fighting. As he lay down on his bed, he dreamt of life without all of these feelings he had struggled all his life. He wanted to get away from himself and from how draining his life was. But he knew he couldn’t do that if he kept surrounding himself with the people and places that reminded him of those feelings.
Here, in Lotus Pier, the memories of his inadequacy in so many ways suffocated him slowly and constantly throughout his life. All his life, he had been drowning. Eventually, he knew he would stop struggling to stay afloat and just let the water swallow him.
This place was going to kill him.
