Hero schools didn’t accept students with criminal records. There were adult hero licensing programs she could apply to once she turned eighteen and her record was sealed, but they cost an arm and a leg for just a single semester of training, so that was impossible unless Ochako won the lottery.
Which was fine, because Ochako didn’t even want to be a hero anymore.

Hawks downs half a beer and two fingers of whisky before he feels loose enough to try and explain. "This is going to sound dumb," he warns, already slurring a little. Seriously, this is so stupid. He shouldn't be getting drunk in front of a villain, not even a villain as naive as Spinner—but maybe a part of him wants to get it off his chest.
Spinner shakes his head. "It won't sound dumb. I promise."
"Okay," Hawks says, hedging. "Okay so—we—" God, why is this so hard? "Me and Dabi, I mean. We—almost boned."
Spinner gasps, horrified. "You did what?"
After falling out with Dabi, Hawks gets himself a new League contact.

Summary
Tenya can remember when Present Mic came out as bisexual on his radio show a few years back - the backlash was immediate. News outlets all over the place complaining about how Present Mic’s radio show was supposed to be for all ages, including kids, but he was bringing up an adult topic like this? And hadn’t he recently been hired as a UA teacher? Was he really someone they wanted their future heroes learning from?
And sure, it's been a few years since then and the whole thing ultimately blew over without Present Mic ever taking that much of a hit to his ratings, and Tenya knows his parents and his friends wouldn't care necessarily, but it's still frightening to imagine being the center of that kind of media attention. Terrifying to think that the secret that could end his career before it's even started is that he's in love with a boy, not that he once tried to murder a man.
A story in which Iida Tenya deals with dating Bakugo Katsuki, juggling two separate friend groups, a teacher that knows him far too well, someone he loves getting horribly injured again, and the prospect of admitting he's gay. Somehow, dating Bakugo is the easy part.

“So can we keep her?” Toga asks, clasping her hands together. “Please? She’s so cute!”
They take one look at the girl, standing on the dirty floor. She’s wrapped her arms around her stomach, trying to make herself look smaller. With the state she’s in, she doesn’t even look out of place with their surroundings, and something inside of Tomura makes him sick with anger at that fact.
“The heroes will just use her,” Dabi deadpans.
And Tomura looks at him disbelievingly. “So you want her?”
Dabi inspects his chipped nail polish. “Nope. Never said that.”
But as he looks around at the group, he can already tell their mind has been made up with the way they gaze back at him—even Dabi’s. And if he’s honest with himself, he has no… objections to her being with them. If they abandon her, the heroes will never find her. Society will turn a blind eye to a dirty, traumatized child wandering the streets. And then she’ll die, without anyone ever having known her.
“Fine,” Tomura grits out. “Eri.” She looks up at him, eyes wide. “Welcome to the League.”

Summary
Dabi is in the strange position of hiding from his past by being really, ridiculously obvious to everyone from his past on national TV. With the League bar a smoking ruin, he jumps straight from The Bachelorette into Bachelor In Paradise with the hope that the program’s “secret” location and army of bodyguards will keep him from being kidnapped a second time… or. Well. A third time, really. He just needs to play it cool, but that’s hard when Hawks has followed him to Paradise too, and Dabi can’t seem to concentrate on any of the other contestants.
Hawks is in the strange position of playing secret bodyguard for the man he’s fallen for, because the only other informants for the HPSC’s darkest secrets have either disappeared or been killed. This piles more angst on top of his already-confusing crush. Is he even allowed to have a crush? Emotions are hard. Hawks is suffering.
Meanwhile Natsuo is horrified but vindicated when he learns that the details of his brother’s death were forged; half of the U.A. staff is on the hunt for Oboro Shirakumo, who called into a radio show despite being dead for over ten years; and the League may not be villains, but they don’t take an insult laying down.
