Clary was sitting on the edge of the roof’s railing, her feet swinging and dangling into the air. She looked out towards the skyline with a crease in her brow. Alec took a couple of steps towards her, trying to step louder with his feet so he didn’t startle her. He came up right next to her before she said anything.
“Hi Alec,” she said, the hands in her lap suddenly very interesting. “I activated my equilibrium rune. Don’t worry.”
“I wasn’t worried. You know your runes better than a lot of us,” Alec replied, taking out his stele and running it over his own equilibrium rune behind his right shoulder.

The next episode it’s three days later and very little is said about the immediate aftermath of the battle or how everyone found out about Clary’s disappearance- this was written to help fill in that gap.
Never read the books, just watched the show and thought there needed more explanation here.
