He knew the pack's scents were muted, but even he could smell the anger in the room - scents that were usually comforting - turning sour in their anger.

“Yongbok-hyung you are so dead.” He muttered to himself as he began to pass the other idols, bowing as politely as he could whilst scanning the stage to try and pinpoint his packmate.
No one tried to stop and talk to him, or to encourage him back towards his pack, something he was grateful for, and finally his eyes spotted a shock of blonde hair between two others.
His frustration gave way to relief before realising that the others were tugging Felix between each other and something in him snapped.

“Is there any truth to those rumours?” Felix asks quietly, eyes settled on the skyline. “They always say there’s some truth to rumours shared, but in this industry, you never know unless you ask.”
Chan wasn’t sure if he was going to cry or run.
“What rumours?” It was a risk to play dumb, especially when he knew exactly what rumours Felix was talking about. He’d heard all of them, both the ones that were spread amongst the tabloids and the ones that were shared between so called fans.

“Okay,” Felix says, leaning forward to curl his fingers around Seonghwa’s wrist. “Whatever you think is best, hyung.”
Seonghwa’s shoulders relax, and he pulls his wrist free, only to bring it to Felix’s own and rub them together as he speaks. “We interviewed someone this morning, an alpha that Yeosang immediately felt comfortable with. His name is Chan, he’s also Korean by way of Australia.”
“He’s here now?” Felix looks back toward the door, eager to see this alpha that’s ready to protect him. “We’re hiring him, right?"

“You’ll be watching over Kim for us when he works,” the boss says, gesturing to the omega sitting quietly at the corner of the room. Minho hadn’t even noticed him, small and unassuming, a sharp contrast to the hardened men around them.
The omega stands, offering Minho a hand.
“Kim Seungmin,” he says simply, and Minho shakes it, feeling the softness of Seungmin’s skin, the slight tremor in his grip. But there’s a glint in Seungmin’s eyes, something that tells Minho not to underestimate him.
“Lee Minho,” he replies, firm and steady.
And that’s that. Seungmin is his and he is Seungmin’s, for better or for worse, while they are part of this group.

Minho doesn’t see how Seungmin’s body freezes, how Seungmin’s eyes dilate, reacting to the alpha command he’s not even sure Minho is aware he just gave.
Because Seungmin can shut up. He can be good and he can help with Hyunjin and Jisung. But he can’t be a good beta.
Because he’s ninety-nine percent sure he started presenting as an omega that morning.

There's the sound of his bedroom door opening at the same time he finally gets the collar fastened around his neck. Turning around, Jeongin's eyes meet Chan's, his whole being feeling smaller, more fragile than he has in years. "I-Is this right, hyung?" Jeongin stutters out, eyes never leaving Chan's despite how embarrassed he feels having been caught like this, so vulnerable.
Is he wearing it correctly? Does he look like a fool? Does he look ridiculous, like a child playing dress up?
Chan steps closer, and Jeongin waits with bated breath as he approaches, footsteps quiet on the carpeted floor. "Oh, baby," the older coos. "No, that's not right at all," he says, stopping in front of Jeongin. Chan silently lifts a hand, his index finger looping between the gap of the collar and Jeongin's throat. He pulls it down, bringing Jeongin a few inches closer, right in front of Chan's focused face. "Good pets wait for their master to give them presents, and don't go taking them for themselves."
Or: Jeongin opens a package, thinking it was for him, only to be caught by Chan, who dolls out the perfect punishment.

Summary
He hears a soft chuckle from Seungmin behind him, closer than before. The omega must clearly find it safe to approach. But as Seungmin chuckles, he feels nails start to press into his back over his clothes and a growl starts to emit from Jeongin.
Chan is quick to get a hand over the top of Jeongin's neck, not scruffing him just quite yet, but a clear warning. "Pup." He starts a low growl in his own throat. Pup is both a term of endearment, but also a reminder to Jeongin's alpha that he is below Chan.
"Mine." He tightens his grip around Chan, to the point that the nails will leave marks, even through the shirt. The smell of rainforest and moss gets even stronger, trying to drown out the scents around them
