A pathetic one, one that loses every last drop of his resolve at that damn honeyed voice and his damn greedy boyfriend with his glistening amber pools for eyes and pink pouty lips and appreciative hands on his body. His threshold for pretending all these things don’t get under every inch of his skin is so stupidly low.

Summary
"Hey," Uenoyama spits, throwing his current guitar pick at Akihiko's head. It soars through the air, its sleek glossy red finish catching the fluorescent lights overhead before it pings off Akihiko's shoulder. The other man doesn't even bother trying to dodge it, just arches his eyebrows and grins, just a little. "I didn't come up with this alone! Mafuyu, tell him!"
"The bit before where the chorus goes is based off the riffs Haruki was warming up with that last week." Mafuyu also adds, "he let me pick out the chords for the opening too. Does that count?"
"Congratulations," Akihiko says dryly, ignoring Mafuyu's statement completely, "you've made him even cockier than he already was."
"He has not," Uenoyama shouts, the pitch of his voice climbing an octave, loud enough to make Haruki wince.
Mafuyu gives Akihiko the same smile that always makes Hiiragi snarl about how he's a little shit and answers, "that's okay, I like it when he's cocky."
Uenoyama makes a noise that is only barely within the range of human hearing, carefully lifts his guitar from over his head to drop it in a guitar stand, and then drops on the ground to curl up in a ball.

Summary
As much as he wishes it weren't so, life doesn't wait for him. The world doesn't stop spinning, not for him or anyone else. After a week, he drags himself back to class, ignores the sympathetic looks his professors give him, sits down in his usual chair and tries to filter out the deafening silence that drowns out their words. Tries to soak up knowledge he couldn't care less about, tells himself it's what she would have wanted for him and hates himself for it.
Nico doesn't talk. Doesn't lie to him that it will be okay. Doesn't make offers Percy shouldn't be thinking about, doesn't take him to see, doesn't tell him the verdict. He doesn't try to hug Percy, or distract him, or anything.
It's unfamiliar to be two again, but it's so easy to become familiar again.

"What the fuck is this?" His heart is somewhere in his throat. Morbidly curious fingers click the arrow keys. Mafuyu. Mafuyu, again. Mafuyu, smiling, Mafuyu, with someone else's hand at his jaw and such a sensual look in his eyes that something inside Ritsuka slips.
Mafuyu, held from behind by a boy with sandy hair and warm eyes, twin smiles stretching thier faces.
Ritsuka chokes down a sound.
There's no more languid summer day, no more quiet coffeeshop, no more fluttering warmth in his gut from Mafuyu's gentle attentions. He doesn't realize that he's shaking until his hands ball into fists; doesn't know he's sweating until a bead slips from his hairline and trails the line of his jaw.

Nico doesn’t know how to answer that, there are too many possibilities and his brain-to-mouth filter is fucked at the moment, so he turns his attention back to the screen, watching Linderman talk down to Nathan. This show is fucked up, he decides. He kind of loves it. He’s drawn to things that mess with his head, the evidence is sitting beside him, shoving a chocolate into his mouth.
They watch one episode, and then they watch another, and another, and somehow the bottle of vodka is almost empty and Nico is slouched against Percy, tucked into the space he avoided earlier. He fits perfectly; his side is pressed to Percy’s chest and he can feel Percy’s breath on his neck.
“Percy,” he whispers after another episode. He feels Percy’s hair brush his cheek and knows his attention is on him. “Why are you really here?”
