Summary
It starts with Uraraka declaring that Izuku is like a marshmallow one afternoon in the common room as she pokes him in the left cheek, right under his freckles. ‘So soft, so sweet, and look at those cheeks.’
“Uraraka!” Izuku sounds like he’s choking.
“Midoriya,” Shouto calls, because calling him ‘Izuku’ in front of people seems taboo, even if just for now, “is everything alright?”
“Fine,” Izuku says, still so choked, high and squeaky and now quiet enough to barely be heard, “just fine. Don’t mind me – just – embarrassed.”
“Oh? But why, is it really all that embarrassing?” Shouto puts his warm hand to his chin and looks up, giving it a think. “Come to think of it – what’s a marshmallow?”

Katsuki can feel it. The awkwardness. It’s radiating off of Dunce Face too, even as he’s still blinking so owlishly between them.
But Kirishima’s smiling.
Kirishima has many smiles, all worth a thousand words apiece. But this one is worth at least fifty, and all the rest are scrambled.
“Aw, man,” he cuts through the haze, interrupting all the staring. “Now knowing all that, I guess I missed my shot back in middle school, huh?”
“Yeah...” and her smile is sweet—so fucking sweet—and Katsuki’s chest hurts, tightens, clenches. “Yeah, I guess so.”
Ah. So that’s how it happens.
Kirishima’s smiling so wide and bright at Raccoon Eyes now that Katsuki feels like his food’s going to come back up.
Just heartburn, he figures.

Summary
Jay's head magnetised to the inside of Daniel's right thigh, then, sort of in a way that made it seem like he was soliloquying against a tree. Then tell me what's wrong – please. And he ran his warm hands up either side of Daniel's thighs in a way to comfort them both.
Daniel sighed, glancing dubiously at the window. It was now far closer to dusk, and the new silvery light made everything seem colder. "It's just..." Daniel tried choosing his words carefully, but found that they were already queued on his tongue without so much as a bouncer. "Sometimes I wonder if we'd still be doing this if I was different."
Jay's spine straightened out of intrigue. 'Different?'
"If I didn't look the way that I did," Daniel clarified, "you know: heavier. Bigger, maybe. Certainly not... attractive." That last word came out in the form of a whisper. "Would we even be friends?"
—Daniel asks Jay an important question.
