Last he'd known, he was under water, still covered in Scott's blood, after a harrowing day of useless chases and unpredictable attacks. Now that he was back, the answer was simple - he had to protect Scott this time, no matter what.

Zed gasped and heaved and tried to clear his airways, all to no avail, his struggling becoming weaker and weaker as black spots danced in his vision, until he was overwhelmed and the world faded out.
Then, all of a sudden, he was awake again. He heaved air into his lungs, a sense of relief washing over him as he realised he was alive, he was okay, he had another chance. He had another chance to save Tango, to save himself, to save the Hermits.
His communicator pinged. He was right back at the start. He could do this.

Summary

When you're on ao3 long enough, you inevitably get exposed to Omegaverse fic. This is my attempt at making the biology behind it at least sort of work in my brain, exploring the worldbuilding in a way that tries to add to the show's themes, and using Omegaverse to reflect on the Party's character arcs.

Hobie shoves his hands into his vest pockets and leans back on his heels, "Can't really say that's my area of expertise." His feet click when he lands back on them, flat.
Miles blinks at him, "Oh. Oh." He says dumbly.
Hobie smirks, "Mhm," he says simply, "How 'bout you? You fancy Gwenny?" He asks. There's something almost taunting in his tone, like he already knows the answer to his question. Miles envies him for that.

Or; Hobie visits Miles every week to keep up on the TV show they've been watching. One night, things don't go as planned, feelings get revealed, and Miles only has to do mild damage control.

This is what Mike’s been thinking about, in between worrying whether they’re all going to die, which definitely suggests that his priorities are a little out of whack, but he can’t help it. The past year has been bizarre, to put it lightly, but he thought that one of the better things to come out of it is that he and Will are friends again, like, real, close friends. He’s wondered, once or twice, in the midst of his own relationship’s crumbling status, whether Will has ever had any romantic entanglements, whether he plans to. Previously, Mike had ruled it out, because he thought if Will was interested in someone that he’d tell him about it, or at least not hide it. But Robin mentioned a date, and Will’s the only guy she’s been around lately except for Steve, who’s pretty obviously still hung up on Nancy (ew), so, like, what else is Mike supposed to think?
Will has made a new friend. Mike feels normal about it, really.

“Todd.” Damian had already abandoned the map where it laid out fully on his bed. Titus, finally joining his people, sniffed at the paper but made no move to lick it, which Damian was thankful for.
“I...need your help on something.” Damian refused to meet the other’s eye, occupying himself with packing a black backpack. If this was all going the way Damian thought it was, he’d need some supplies. A flashlight for one. Maps wouldn't shy from underground tunnels or sewers, he knew.
“Oh?” Todd’s voice took on a high pitched mocking tone that Damian did not care for. He narrowed his eyes to a glare before he even realized. “For what little bird?” His smile told Damian that Todd already knew for what.
“This-” His hand waved to the map, untouched. “Is the start of a scavenger hunt.” He said it with the conviction of someone who’d thought they’d solved an impossible problem. “And if I know Maps even just the littlest bit,” He continued as he went over and started putting the paper away carefully, “This is just the beginning piece. I may...need help to figure it all out.”

After weeks of trying to hold the frayed edges of his brother together, Jason finally felt Dick slip through his fingers - and he knows that he'll never forgive himself for that. Now that Dick is taking the first tentative steps towards recovery, Jason is adamant that he won't make the same mistakes again. He's going to be a good brother, even if it kills him.
