Summary
Tommy knows stories — raised on them, lulled to sleep by his parents’ voices beneath the soft glow of his nightlight — and so, he knows how his story ought to end. He is meant to labor until his bones splinter beneath the weight of years, his knees stiff with age, his eyes clouded with cataracts. He is meant to serve as Dream’s soldier boy, loyal as a hound, blood-bound until the master falls — and perhaps even beyond the grave. He is meant to fade into some tired little ending, a boy-shaped shadow lowered nameless into a coffin draped in withered garlands. He is meant to tick down, second by second, toward silence.
Instead, he stands here, his heart cupped in warm, gentle hands. A heart pink and small and cherished, cradled as though it were something precious. Loved. And the story does not begin with a coronation or a kiss beneath moonlight, no. It begins with blood on the floor of a warehouse.
That, at the very least, is normal.
Or: Every other Age Reveal Fic but with a ridiculous amount of cosmic imagery and italics.

He is imperceivable afterall.
It's a shitty power, one he was cursed with at ten years old. Almost everybody receives a power when they turn ten, some extremely useful and some not so much. An even rarer few don’t receive anything at all. However, Tommy’s is in one of the most uncommon categories: life ruining.
He woke up to a mother who didn’t even know she had a son, and a father who didn’t hug Tommy back no matter how tightly Tommy squeezed. He threw things, broke the coffee pot, even ripped one of his mother’s paintings, but it was like he didn’t exist.

Phil could hear the scrape of snow against the roof as he woke up. Wind tugged at Techno’s small house, whistling around the eaves, but only made it inside in the form of a chill in the air. He blinked blearily at the ceiling in the grey light. “Is’t mornin’?”
Techno had pulled a clock off the bedside table, and was squinting at it without his glasses. “Technically, yeah. Nine o’clock, actually.” He grinned crookedly at his partner, face still lined from the pillow. “We’ve been sleepin’ in.”
Phil flopped an arm at him, retracting it back and pulling the quilts higher towards his nose. “Come back to bed."
