Chaeryeong’s breath quickens and she leans back, trying to hide the way her heartbeat starts thumping against her ribcage. She puts on a teasing tone to mask her excitement in case she’s getting ahead of herself. “Are you asking me out, Hwang Yeji?”
There’s a little nervous tug at the corner of Yeji’s lips as she reaches to smooth down a stray flyaway. Chaeryeong takes a shaky breath, she doesn’t know if her heartbeat is threatening to spiral out of control from that little gesture or if it’s the possibility of a date. Yeji smiles and Chaeryeong almost dissolves at the quick cheek kiss she manages to sneak in, “Yes.”
