Comments, Kudos and Bookmarks are much appreciated!

P.S. I'm currently going through older chapters and fixing spacing and spelling mistakes so if you see inconsistencies, it's because I'm editing lol. Sorry in advance!

    Summary

"And although the genuine part of Walker wants to snatch the jacket back and strangle the man with it, the resilient part knows that he needs to learn to ignore this sensation of nauseating revulsion if he wants to go somewhere, especially if his only chance at getting justice lies beyond these few remaining hours, beyond useless Shawnee and his useless fucking badge and the useless rules of law enforcement. Better yet, he must not merely hide and feign emotions: he must start genuinely feeling what he wants Brendan to believe he's feeling. He must start believing that his mask is his real self, to the point where he can't tell them apart anymore."

    Summary

“Oh,” Astarion breathes, eyes drooping into glassy little crescents. Well, if this is how he dies, Astarion thinks, this is how he dies. A shame that he’ll never get to plunge a stake through Cazador’s chest. “Death is so beautiful.”

“...Precisely how much of this spider’s blood did you consume?” Gale asks, his hands brushing Astarion’s hair off his soaked forehead. The touch makes the unbearable, painful heat in his body squeeze around him like a heavy chain. “You’re scorching. You could give Karlach a run for all her gold.”

    Summary

“Fine,” she said. “Do you know the statistically most common way for the authorities to take out organized crime?”
Well, if that was her idea of enticing conversation, it was no wonder she had all those evenings free to chase after scoundrels like him. Still, Astarion didn’t want to antagonize her further and ruin the game, so he pursed his lips and guessed, “A very large, well-placed cannon?”
    “Tax fraud.”
She looked at him as if she expected some sort of reaction – maybe a dramatic gasp? A palm flung to his forehead in a theatrical rendition of How could I not think of this?
Everything he could muster was a blink. “Tax … fraud.”
She nodded, obviously excited about what Astarion was sure were two of the most boring words in the English language, combined.
"That's how we'll take down Cazador."

    Summary

“Why does your blood smell so strange?”

The question startled Gale, who looked up from where he sat cross-legged in front of his tent, organizing his scrolls in preparation for their upcoming “visit” to the goblin camp. He’d given Astarion a wide berth since the revelation of his vampiric condition a few days earlier, so he was surprised to see the pale elf looming over him now, a peculiar expression on his face.

“You know,” Gale offered with a smile, “in my extensive journeys across manifold realms, I do believe that is not a question that I’ve ever been asked before. I honestly can’t decide whether or not I should be offended.”

    -

Of the many side effects Gale has faced as a result of his whole “being physical host to an imminently destructive magical orb” problem, he somehow never anticipated his blood now apparently smelling irresistible to vampires (or at least, one particular vampire) to be one of them.
