Lance doesn’t really want to talk about what he thinks of when he thinks of Keith(it is most definitely NOT that he looks pretty all the time, and that his hair isn’t quite as bad as Lance has made it out to be, or that he maybe has a tiny crush on him).
None of the team wants to save him, except that Lance does, and he will, even if it means infiltrating Zarkon’s ship alone - because he’ll be damned if he lets the team abandon their leader.
Basically protective Lance because I love that trope, little bit of angst, and a grossly sweet ending.

Something was horribly wrong and Keith just kissed a stranger who stole the voice of the love of his life.
“Get off me,” Keith whispered. Then, loud and furious, “Get off me!”
“Took you long enough. Too long,” The imposter smirked.

Lance hummed, as if he was considering his words. “I can understand that. But parties can also be fun. Letting go, drinking, dancing, just letting loose. Sometimes it can be a nice distraction from life.”
“Maybe a party of just friends. Maybe if we were all drinking at the castle.” Keith’s eyes scanned the large room, taking note of a few particular aliens. “But not here. Not anywhere with strange lifeforms. I’m not drinking a single thing and I’m definitely not dancing with one of them.”
Lance smirked, looking to the crowd to avoid his eyes. “Would you dance with me? If we partied at the castle? Just us paladins.”
Keith hesitated- not to think of his answer- but to decided whether he wanted Lance to hear it. He sighed. “I’d dance with you at the castle,” he softened his voice, almost hoping Lance wouldn’t hear him. “Or here. Anywhere really.”
