The lead singer of the band playing the bar off Comm Ave in Allston is not Shauna’s type.
Shauna Shipman likes nice girls.
Girls who play sports and spend their free time partying first and studying second and still manage to soar through with a 3.7 GPA. Girls who shop at Abercrombie & Fitch and Macy’s and Banana Republic (and TJ Maxx when they’re slumming it). Girls who like Robyn and Kylie Minogue and that one Gina G song. Girls who spent their entire childhood gunning for Rutgers and settled for BU to be closer to the most important person in their life. Girls who could never like other girls the way Shauna does.
Shauna does not like girls in ripped fishnets and itty-bitty plaid skirts and platform leather boots that give them three extra inches they’d never see otherwise. She doesn’t like girls with heavy eyeliner and even heavier shadow. She doesn’t like over-bleached hair and plump red lips that suck on cigarettes like a lifeline during punchy guitar solos.
