The raven haired boy gave him a look. “C’mon,” He whines. “I’m not a wimp.”
Will’s nose scrunched up with a smile, and it’s the best thing Mike has ever seen.
It was strange, this new feeling in his chest. It caused his heart to beat faster, and he had the insane urge to lean forward— to grab Will’s makeup-covered face and press their lips together. He wonders if the lip gloss would rub off on him.

Mike frowns in confusion. “Find what?” Mike asks.
His boyfriend grins at him, and Mike can’t help the butterflies in his stomach. “Nothing important,” Will teases. “But I have to go help anyway.”
“But what–” Mike continues, before his lips and Will’s lips make contact and his thoughts scatter in a blink of an eye because wow, what was he even saying? They break apart and Will smiles ever so sweetly. “Huh.”

“Mike,” Will had said to him, voice calm despite how hard it was for him to even make a sound. He didn’t try to sit up, but Mike wasn’t sure he could, even if he wanted to. “I need you to kill me.”
Mike shook his head, holding Will closer to his chest.
“Mike, please.” Will pleaded, closing his eyes against the light, or perhaps it was too much effort to keep them open. “I don’t want to hurt you.”
“You won’t,” Mike whispered, surprised at how vulnerable he sounded, at the shake and utter defeat in his voice. “You won’t kill me, Will. Because we’re the same. We can’t hurt each other, even at the end of the world.”

It's been three years since the start of the zombie apocalypse and Mike is finally returning home. He discovers that not only is he not the sole survivor of Hawkins, but that his friends and sister are alive, too. As he begins to reconnect with them, the tension between them begins to increase, and Mike doesn't know how long he can stay with them.
Because while some of the group are more than happy to have him around, others don't like the company he keeps...

zombie apocalypse AU where Will gets infected very early on but Mike keeps him alive because he cant live without him and hes survives basically on his own for a long time before he and Will finally meet up with others(the party, nancy, jonathan, steve, robin, and vickie) and then at some point el gets introduced and tells mike that there’s a cure!!! so everyone goes to get it!!! the byler burger is so good oml!!! mike calling himself selfish all the time because he genuinely cant live without Will 😭
