Summary
Perhaps Techno shouldn’t have folded so easily. If he hadn’t he wouldn’t have ended up where he was now.
At some point in getting semi-settled in the Watson house the feelings of anxiety had switched from the unknown to a need for approval. The feeling after Phil would compliment him or give him a proud smile was euphoric and addictive.
Techno could admit he didn’t have many redeeming qualities or skills. While most teens were working on hobbies and solidifying their personalities, Techno was dodging fists from foster parents. Hiding in the guest room they had gifted him and constantly changing his personality to fit what they expected from him.
or; Techno fights with his need for approval and validation from Phil. Foster parent Phil tries his best to help his poor boy.

They had given the hairy alien a weapon. They had never given any of the aliens Tommy had dealt with before a weapon. It was some shiny metal looking stick, but it was enough for the hairy alien to get a hit on Tommy, a hit to the side of his head. Everything went black.
When he came to, the world was ringing, he couldn’t move or even breathe for a couple seconds. Panic started to rise, if he couldn’t move then he would die. He was in a fight, all they wanted was death. This was a fight to the death.
AKA: Tommy is sold to an alien underground fighting ring, when an oddly pink cellmate shows up one night. Tommy was absolutely dominating the fights too, killing every alien they put in front of him, until they start to give said aliens weapons. Until one of them gets a hit to Tommy's head and now his pink cellmate is all too concerned about him.
AKA AKA: Tommy gets a concussion in an illegal underground fighting ring... in space!

“What are you doing here?” A hushed voice demanded.
Thanato whipped his head to the side.
There, sitting only half on the railing, was… a kid?
The young looking maybe-hero wore a fully black outfit, mask and all, as well as a cloak that almost accentuated the typical lanky body and round face of a teenager. Perhaps that was biassed, coming from a father of two, but to him it seemed quite clear.
“I could ask you the same thing, kid,” he whispered back.
The maybe-hero squawked, clearly offended, and Thanato was sure he would’ve shouted if it wouldn’t have risked discovery. “I’m not a kid, I’m fucking Theseus bitch! This is my first ever ree-con-aye-since mission, not even that- my first ever mission, and you’re ruining it!”
Thanato blinked, tipping his head to the right.
“This is your first mission?” He confirmed.
“Yeah, bitch,” Theseus acknowledged, rather rudely.
A reconnaissance assignment as a hero’s first mission? That was unheard of, not only because it would never grace the news, but because heroes knew it wouldn’t. “...Seems pretty boring.”

Techno hums, his hands slowly unwrapping from around his neck, though one lingers. He pushes his chin up with one hand, trialing a finger down his neck with the other. Tommy shivers at the touch, being reminded that the guy in front of him is a fucking vampire.
“Who, little witch?” He croons, goosebumps running up along his arms as Techno stops at his pulse point, no doubt feeling how fast his heart was beating.
Or Tommy is a lonely witch that falls right into the hands of three waiting vampires.
