Being the hero of the story is great and all, but what about everyone else? When the dust settles, what happens to the civilians and bystanders, the side characters and OCs? The world does not stop turning when a hero goes on a quest. What do the common people see in them?

“Yeah, sensei, do we pass?” Sasuke dangled the bells from the tip of his finger, a smug grin on his face. He was a bastard, Kakashi decided.
Actually, all of them were. Little shit bastards. Feral goblins. Hellspawn. If it wasn’t Sakura literally changing the landscape of the field underneath Kakashi’s feet, it was Sasuke swinging a sword crackling with lightning, both of them subtly herding him towards Naruto’s hundred shadow-clones, all of which were so fast he could barely track them even with the sharingan.
Kakashi was starting to think his team definitely didn’t have the same problems as the others.

Someone bumped into him and he was about to brush it off when a fan started yelling at him. God, why.
“Hey! Stop cutting, dude! Stand in line like everyone else!” Fan 1 yelled over the cacophony of other voices. Shouta was tempted to look up at the ceiling and pray for someone to smite him down, but he restrained himself.
“Yeah!” Fan 2, Fan 1’s friend, joined in. “I just saw you shoulder past like ten other people! You’re so rude, man!”
Shouta internally groaned.

Life is even harder when you're 15, pregnant, and a civilian newly moved to Konaha, one of the famous shinobi villages, and the only place you could find to stay on short notice was a run-down apartment that housed one very loud boy that most people didn't want to get close to for reasons no one wanted to talk about. Probably why said boy latched on so fast and refused to let go.
This wasn't what started it all. But Kaya never did know that she stood in the eye of a storm. Or that he did, too.
