Summary
At the sound of a struck match, Tim twisted, fixed on the flame. “What?” His eyes followed the movement of Jason lighting his cigarette, and snuffing out the match in the dirt. The Florentine countryside was evidently quite dry, so he dug it in extra hard.
For a while, they watched each other, until Tim sniffed the air and said, “You smoke Marlboros.”
“That’s not in my personnel file?”
“No, it…” he caught himself and shook his head, once, like he didn’t mean to and had to catch himself again. Jason had thrown him, somehow. “It is. Ha.”
“Ha,” Jason repeated back, now thrown, himself. “What else is in there?” Beyond the cliff, a firework exploded in brilliant blues and greens, peacock-colored. It lit Tim’s left cheek and eye in cerulean. He was alien, cut from Kryptonite or something like it, horribly powerful and difficult to look at.
Tim said, “your shit schedule,” and turned back to the sky.(Tim asks Jason to help him work an undercover op in Italy. Things get complicated.)

He’s shivering by the time he reaches Drake manor, early into the morning. He wraps himself in blankets and sits in the mirror room, staring at where his face should be, but where Robin’s is instead. The domino hides the eyes; despite that, Tim knows what’s—or rather, who—is behind it now.
It’s there, alone in his parents’ too-big-house, that he makes the decision to never tell another soul of what he knows. He is, after all, becoming very well acquainted with keeping secrets. Especially the dangerous variety.

It spiraled high into the wild sky with purposeful but fragile intent. And his thoughts, like his grappling line, took a moment to reorient as the tension slackened and gravity made itself known. So that Tim continued to plot his next move to capture Ulu-girl as he began to fall. Even as he realized what the lack of weight in his hands meant (that the little homunculus had cut his line) it still took him precious seconds to turn his thoughts away from the mission and towards saving himself. Maybe if he were better rested. Maybe if he weren’t fending off several threats at once. Maybe if his mind weren’t fixated on three, four, or even 15 steps ahead of the one in front of him. Maybe then he could have had the presence of mind to twist in the air and stretch his body towards the telephone pole, using his momentum to swing around the pole gracefully and land on his feet. Instead, he slammed his torso into the pole with bone-cracking force, twisted backward, and fell, arms first, to the hard, unforgiving ground..."

Summary
For a long time, Tim doesn’t know his parents are dead. Maybe that makes him a bad son, for not knowing. When he reads about death, or when he watches people die in movies, their loved ones always know. There’s a gasp of pained revelation, an instinctual loss.
Tim doesn’t feel that. He wouldn’t have noticed at all, except for that he likes to keep track of the things going on in the places where his parents visit. Sometimes, it means he can ask leading questions, on their mostly-weekly phone calls, and Janet will spiral off into some tangent about these people and their lack of work ethic, and she’ll talk for minutes on end before realizing she’s still on the phone, getting bored, and then ending the call. So he keeps an alert system on his phone, for news, so they have some topics in common to talk about. It’s only luck he sees the article before anyone else does.

Tim’s quest to bring Bruce back from his Time-Travel-Super-Vacation goes horribly topsy-turvey when Ra's takes a more pro-active approach to keeping Tim prisoner, and he ends up in an alternate universe where he never existed, and everybody is disorientingly well-adjusted and weirdly obsessed with his “wellness”, whatever that means.
