Hesitantly, he presses a trembling hand to the glass.
The entire universe is spread out underneath his finger tips, hundreds upon hundreds of stars swirling in constellations he doesn't know, a melting pot of dazzling colors, vivid pinks and deep blues, swatches of yellow and green.
If he squints, he can make out planets. Tiny little dots, hardly bigger than the nail on his pinky finger. That little grey one must be Lestea, the trade moon they just left, but the others? he has no idea.
One of them must be earth. How ironic is that he's the first human to ever leave the Milky Way Galaxy, and all he wants to do is go back home?
(In other words; After rescuing Tommy, sbi and co. embark on a roadtrip through the Esempi Galaxy to return him to his home planet, Earth. They make a few pit stops, piss off some shopkeepers, make some strange friends, and learn how to be family along the way)

“Nope,” Ranboo chirped, his shy demeanor melting away, replaced by a front of sheer charisma. It was baffling how quickly he’d switched. Tommy didn’t trust it one bit. “Can’t. I’m here to request your assistance.”
Oh, the nerve of this guy. First the threats, now he asks for help? Ranboo couldn’t even get his name right, the dick. Tommy’s hands twitched at his sides. No strangling allowed in Jack’s pub, he reminded himself. Remember, Tommy. No strangling.
“You come in here,” Tommy deadpanned, “steal my fruit, and then claim you want me to work a job for you?” Tommy scoffed. “Yeah, right. That makes total sense.”
Ranboo shrugged, grinning at him. “It’s one way to introduce myself, sure. Gotta make a good first impression.”
“Good is still up for debate,” Tommy muttered.

Tommy is a no-good thief with a smart tongue, sticky fingers, and plenty of bottled trauma. Ranboo, a member of the most notorious criminal organization in the galaxy, is in search of someone to assist him on a stubborn quest to help a friend.
He gets Tommy instead.

It calls itself Dream. Or- Tommy thinks that’s what it does. He’s not exactly used to translating alien language and the shitty quality translator it implanted into the back of his neck didn’t exactly help much. The stitches pull weirdly when he moves his head and it would be the most unsettling part about this situation if Tommy hadn’t been abducted by a fucking alien.
A fucking alien who thought he was some kind of werewolf.
AKA my own addition to the 'Humans are actually the OP species in space' trope.

Wilbur boards The Twitch when he’s 20.
It’s- a jarring transition, to say the least. He’d gotten some preliminary space training, some documents saying which planet he’s from and that he’s not a criminal, et cetera et cetera- but other than that, Wilbur is basically kicked into a world of neverending galaxies, new and young and unaware of what exactly he’s supposed to be doing.
Too young to explore the stars, too old to discover new continents, his parents and grandparents had said, and Wilbur had thought it would be his reality, too.
And then it wasn’t.
