A Fatui hand struck her across the face, the sound sharp and sickening. Elzer lunged forward on instinct, putting himself between her and them, only to be met with a brutal punch that sent him reeling back, blood bursting from his lip as he hit the ground.
And something inside Diluc snapped.

Diluc tugged at the leash. “Kneel, pet.”
He could see Kaeya shake, as if he wanted to leap at the ancient vampire and tear his throat out; however, he sank to the floor, kneeling one leg at a time and bowing his head in submission.

this is an UNFINISHED and DISCONTINUED fic that i had been working on since i was 15. i will never finish it, but i'm finally uploading it because ultimately im proud of it even though i cant finish it! hopefully this inspires someone, and if not, i hope its liked by whoever ends up reading it. maybe ill come back to it to finish it at some point, but its not likely. thank you <3

Kaeya was pretty sure he’d learned how to cook before he had even learned how to read or write.
He vividly remembered watching his mother make things, her hands gentle but firm whenever she kneaded dough or mixed ingredients, a myriad of smells spreading through the kitchen as she worked. She’d let him help with simple tasks until he was old enough to help out for real; half the fun of eating a meal had been the satisfaction of making it together.
Then there was the time he’d spent with the Ragnvindrs, Adelinde so surprised at the fact he knew his way around a kitchen and even more so when she learned he wasn’t a picky eater, unlike some other kid she knew. Diluc claimed he could always tell when Kaeya had helped cook something because it tasted even better, and Kaeya would never forget the praise Crepus had given them for making a fancy birthday cake together.
He had liked cooking, once upon a time, but that felt like a lifetime ago now.

People have differing opinions on alcohol, but in general, Kaeya finds there are four main camps of people. There are those who are starchy against alcohol. They don’t drink alcohol, and they don’t want anyone else to drink it either. Then, there are those who perhaps don’t drink for medical reasons or simply personal reasons, but don’t mind when others partake in the elixir. There are people who view alcohol as a specialty drink, a celebratory mixture to be used to celebrate or even occasionally unwind, perhaps once or twice a week, if not a month.
Then, there were people like Kaeya. People who started drinking not because they wanted a drink, but because they needed a drink. People who need the feeling alcohol gives them, the mind numbing bliss that comes at the bottom of the bottle. The apathy that comes with all of your inhibitions lowered, your feelings freed into something like bliss and your troubles washed away with every swig.
People who refused to think of it as a problem.
(Or the fic in which Kaeya is finally forced to confront his alcoholism).

The Delusion had not been kind to Diluc's body.
Nearly four years he had wielded the accursed weapon — the same gem responsible for killing his father, alongside the knife that Diluc used to end his misery — and for nearly four years, it had only deteriorated his body. Combined with being so far away from his Vision, and well — it had been a miracle that he remembered who Kaeya or his father at all.
Nearly four years that he had managed to keep the secret under wraps; the matter that the weapon had done irreversible damage to his body, both physically and mind. Despite Kaeya's insistence, cigarettes really were the least of Diluc's health issues.
OR; Diluc is suddenly gravely ill, prompting a crisis response from those closest to him. Kaeya discovers long hidden secrets within the family in the process — ones that, in his opinion, should have remained buried.
