Можете считать, что это — самая лайтовая работа из линейки. По сути — введение, но при этом полностью самодостаточное и амбициозное, несмотря на такое положение.
В этой истории Рин Тосака призывает не Арчера. Во время ритуала призыва ей достался героический дух, который постоянно носит треснувшую стальную маску, и отказывается говорить о том, кто он, ссылаясь на потерю памяти... Но несмотря на это, он знает слишком много. Больше, чем должен знать.
Это — история о том, что случается с человеком, когда жизнь забирает у него надежду и веру в то, что может быть лучше. Когда надежда испаряется раз за разом. И о том, можно ли жить без неё. Ну, или же о том, как самые светлые желания могут привести в могилу, созданную из твоих же неудач.
Небольшой спойлер: События начинаются из ветки, практически полностью повторяющей ветку Unlimited Blade Works, вплоть до окончания дня 14. Почему же всё начинается с призыва слуги? Ну, вы, думаю, и так догадались.

We had to borrow it, so we tried to clean it up. But then the sun made it explode. Not our sun. Some other guy’s sun. Tell the Director we’re really sorry about that. Actually, nevermind, TRI-HERMES said he would.
