This was a highly requested fic based off a tumblr post I made:
Clone troopers grew up seeking comfort from one another, usually resulting in piling into one of their batch mates beds and eventually the floors. Once the war started they knew that they couldn't continue this practice, however some habits die hard. As it turns out, they have the tendency to latch onto the nearest person in their sleep, be it another clone trooper, their Jedi, or someone else.
Or as someone on tumblr put it: 'cuddling seeking homing missiles'

He looked into the mirror he’d managed to scrounge as a cadet and carried with him ever since, just large enough to see his whole head in the expanse. He could barely see the two Paths he’d been shaping into his hair now, all of it overgrown and curling into the rest of the hair on his head. The red dye he worked into the short hair when he’d last cut it had faded enough that the design was almost unrecognizable against his dark roots.
He picked up the first guard and set to shaving the whole mess down to his preferred length – long enough to be visible, but short enough to prevent matting under his helmet. The Paths vanished more and more under each swipe of his hand and he breathed in, out.
He remembered, he repeated to himself. This is only the in-between, the allowing of the remembrance to shift over time.

This is a collection of stories about a smuggler trying to make ends meet during wartime and a Jedi Padawan, soon to be Knight, tasked with defending the Republic.
