Max, meanwhile, can’t stand either of them. Not only because they’re spoiled, reckless Gryffindors who somehow get cheered for their constant pranks, but also because he just genuinely hates people. To be fair, Max has reasons: there’s a war raging outside Hogwarts’ walls, and he seems to be the only one already paying the price for it, while everyone else gets to stay wrapped in blissful ignorance.
Spoiler n.2: That's gonna change soon.Shoutout to Pierre Gasly, the only Gryffindor mature enough to keep Charles and Carlos from self-destructing, and to a whole cast of chaotic cameos coming your way as this mess of a story unfolds.

“I must say,” Perceval drawled, easily squeezing Wavebender’s wrists and bringing them above his head, trapping them against the concrete, “whenever I’ve imagined this, it hasn’t been in a dusty old warehouse.”
He smirked, leaning down until his nose brushed against Wavebender’s. Their bodies pressed close together, Perceval pressing Wavebender into the ground. This close Wavebender could feel his breath brush against his lips, could even feel the brush of his goatee. Stubbornly, Wavebender ignored the shiver it caused. “It’s usually somewhere more… intimate.”

Charles needed to escape whatever was going on in his house in Monaco, the air was suffocating and he felt like he was drowning, barely surviving. Saying goodbye to his two brothers and his mother, leaving his father and godfather's graves in the cemetery, he drove to his university, in Belgium.
He left everything behind him, but his past kept coming back to him, in the worst way possible.
Charles got accepted as a member of the athletics team, and he was enthusiastic to the idea of running and winning competitions again. It was before his eyes landed on Max Verstappen, a man he thought he would never seen again, his biggest rival that he never had seem to destroy.
Max was the leader of the team, meaning Charles had to be the nicest version of himself to stay in. But, sometimes it's not that easy to be someone everyone wants you to be when it's simply not you. Charles never liked Max and he would never ever accept being close to him.
