Summary
A healing song weaves itself into the broken fragments of dreams that Elrond navigates. He feels weightless and heavy as stone and iron all at once. It’s a song he knows though this voice is of a stranger. It is ancient, the foundation of the healing songs he learnt as a boy but without ages of change.
“Rest now.”Elrond's attempt to flee Lindon with the three rings fails and he doesn't make it to Círdan. Instead he is found, broken and bloody, and taken to Mordor and the Lord father of the uruk. Desperate, Elrond takes a leap of faith and seeks an alliance in order to save not just the elves, but all Middle Earth.

As part of a negotiation to forge an alliance between the elves and a dwarves, a marriage pact was struck between the two races. Durin, freshly fallen from his father’s favour and stripped of his title as heir to the throne, was the prime candidate to be wed to Elrond, who volunteered on behalf of the elves. The two get off to a rocky start, made worse as Elrond discovers the elves' motives for the arrangement may not be as innocent as they may seem. But soon found themselves facing more trouble than they had anticipated from a simple political alliance. Forced to set their initial animosity aside to work together against greater foes, trust and love comes to grow between them.

Sauron’s eye fell unto the body, discerning the carvings on the chest. Fresh, still bloody, but visible, even though the corpse has been pulled out from the river, and was soiled with dirt. Adar was near Eregion; these were his methods. He shouldn’t be here, not now, not before the rings of power were complete.
He recognized the Cirth runes, at once; the ancient writing of the Elves, developed by the Sindar of Beleriand by Daeron, the minstrel of King Thingol of Doriath. The message, in Old Sindarin, adressed to him: Adar had Galadriel as prisoner. Before he had time to react to such information, he quickly demanded for the corpse to be buried.
“Show this to no one.” Sauron ordered.
What if Sauron shapeshifted into Elrond and went to Orc camp himself to meet with Adar, in Episode 7 of Season 2 of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power”?

This path is a massive part of her journey, and once she starts it there will be no turning around. Only looking on ahead and continuing along. Or, in an alternate timeline from ROP, Elrond and Galadriel are sent to Khazad-dum to sign a treaty between Gil-galad and Durin III - and to attend the wedding of Prince Durin and Disa. Galadriel wants dwarvish-style braids as a sign of respect, but while braiding her hair, Elrond's thoughts focus more on his romantic feelings.

Durin and Disa on the other hand are determined to keep Elrond on this side of the sea as long as they can. Unfortunately things don't quite go to plan and Elrond is injured in the process. Elrond and his friends struggle to get through the aftermath. But even through all the pain and suffering, Elrond might just find a reason or two to stay.
