The woman gently clutched something in her arms. A baby wrapped in white silk was looking up curiously from there, and let out a soft coo, at the melody.Sleep, my darling, safe and sound
For in this river all is foundShi Qingxuan smiled sweetly at the baby, those yellow eyes shining brightly in the early evening. A strand of black hair fell over the baby’s forehead, and her mother delicately moved it away. With a slow movement, she got down from her rock and started walking, her bare feet leaving marks on the sand with every step, getting constantly wet from the docile waves.

The young man rolled his eyes, but slowed down, just a little bit for the other to catch up with him. But he didn’t stop, oh no, he wouldn’t let him see that.
Shi Qingxuan came panting excessively and He Xuan had to hold himself from rolling his eyes again, knowing very well how much that behavior was exaggerated. He would have never admitted it even to himself, though, that he secretly loved it. In the same way Shi Qingxuan loved being a brat.
“Ah, thank you, A-Xuan.” he said, while He Xuan had already grabbed his white bag from him and hang it over his left shoulder.
“Mh.” he mumbled.
On the right shoulder, his own bag did not feel that heavy, although it was carrying everyone’s homework. Shi Qingxuan’s bag, on the other hand, was truly light as a feather. What did he bring to class every day, was still a mystery to He Xuan. A pencil, maybe.*
Modern AU at uni! Collection of short random episodes, set in college, so the characters are slightly older than canon (21/22yrs old). Fluff and domestic life, because Beefleaf is killing me and I cannot move on.

Summary
Shi Qingxuan drinks the night away at an ugly pavilion with his friends, relishing music and a familiar man's glance. He's tired and sick, so perhaps he's hallucinating. He does not wait for the music to end or to finish the liquor in his hand. He does not take the bamboo pole but simply leaves for he knows it will no longer be of any use. It's snowing and he knows he does not have much time left. Perhaps the heavens still had mercy on him. Otherwise, why does he feel warm hands holding him even when he can see the red blood he coughed? He's dying. He knows.
The hands holding him are slowly disappearing too. The night is cold and thankfully the time is less.
(When the greatest obsession of the Ghost Supreme dies, he is bound to meet no other fate but his very end.)
