OR where Tommy is given a second chance and isn't going to blow it, not even if things start to get revealed (things that change everything) and discoveries are made.

I see the reflection within the swimming purple of the portal, and I don't recognize my own face. It's muddled and unfamiliar, and I don't know whether to cry or to laugh.
I don't end up doing either; instead, I pull the book away from my chest and open the front cover, looking at the worn piece of paper taped onto the inside.
There are four people in it, and I don't remember any of them.

Summary
The afterlife is not the blank white canvas that Tommy had come to expect since he'd heard Ghostbur talk about it. That was Tommy's fault for believing him, though. The amnesiac wasn't exactly reliable in any situation, even less so a situation regarding his own death. Everyone knew that.
alternatively;
A canon divergent fic where Tommy stays dead. Follow his healing process through the afterlife, and watch the living as they cope with the changes his death brings.
