Summary
A hundred years after the Battle of Exegol, the hegemon known for myriads as the Galactic Republic has vanished from the face of the galaxy, as has the once-ubiquitous Jedi Order. After 25,000 years, the galaxy is finally free of any faction with the capability, nor inclination, to seek its domination. Self-appointed successor states of the Republic wage inconclusive wars for dominance, while the ancient and immense hyperspatial trade routes that sustained Coruscant have ceased to exist. Now, following the discovery of a vast cache of records collected by a renegade archeologist, for the first time we are able to present a comprehensive history of the decline and fall of the Galactic Republic.

Dead quiet follows her statement.
“Where?” Poe finally asks.
“We don’t know. That’s the problem.”
“He’s going to be at Tyvaxus,” Luke tells them. “Tyvaxus is an ancient Sith palace. It’s a legend, really, a myth. Only a handful of people have ever known its location. From what we’ve been able to glean is that the only people who know its approximate whereabouts this decade have been Snoke and Kylo Ren.”

After restoring peace to the galaxy, Rey makes a trip to commune with the force. To her surprise Rose finds herself asked to accompany her for the trip.
The engineer has to contend with controlling her powerful crush on the Jedi while alone with her for weeks.

Honestly, Rey thinks she’s going to have fun.
Leia’s sending her, Rose, and Luke on a mission. Rose is going because it’s going to require hacking into a First Order database (which is apparently a skill she’s gained since Rey left), Rey and Luke for backup. Rey doesn’t know that Rose needs both Rey and Luke, but she suspects Leia wants to see how Luke and Rey work together. Din and Grogu are coming, and nobody’s given her the reason for that, but Rey’s best guess on that one is that ever since Din let her go off on her own to Wriesis, he is thoroughly unwilling to let her go on her own for anything else as long as they’re with the Resistance, and Leia is going along with it.

It’s something in the Force, she realizes. The Force is heavy, a ripple, an existence. There’s somebody here. Somebody powerful.
Silently, Rey slips through the streets, following the feeling. It gets stronger and stronger until she reaches an alley. The alley is empty but she doesn’t trust that for a second. She draws her saber and approaches the dumpster there, just in case there’s somebody behind it.
She hears the buzz of a saber being ignited and whirls around. She swings her blade until it hits another, brilliant blue. Both of them still and she tries to evaluate him. Tall, she sees, and broad. He’s burning gold, almost as strong as Luke and Leia. As near as she can tell, he has goggles and a mask of some kind on his face. She can see them hiding his glow, or dimming it, around the goggles. Not much else to tell about him, other than the fact he’s wielding a lightsaber.

But she can park at a distance in a valley near the ruins of a Rebellion base the Resistance squadron is hiding out in. The TIE fighters will get in from the easier terrain, so she just needs to get them through the valley.

Three decades after the Empire's defeat, the New Republic encompasses much of the Galaxy, the new government bringing new planets into their fold. Things are peaceful. Other than a few attacks on New Republic convoys in the Outer Rim, and as far as the Senate is concerned, it's not worth the credits it'd cost to fund an investigation.
However, Commander Poe Dameron is convinced that an Empire splinter group is targeting New Republic ships, and he's determined to prove it. The once-in-a-decade election of a Senate speaker is approaching, and Senator Nova Torrent, an outspoken critic of Speaker Leia Organa, seems poised to make a bid for her seat. And with rumors of Republic-funded kidnappings and conspiracies spreading on backwater planets, political challenges for Leia and her supporters are inevitable.
Meanwhile, on the planet of Jakku, a scavenger named Rey waits for her mother to come home, and a Stormtrooper with no name makes a choice that could change the Galaxy forever.

“It’s a box of some kind. Mechanical. It’s got codes in it we need.”
“Okay.” Poe sighs. “I’ll call someone up. We’ll-“
“I’m going,” Leia interrupts.
Everybody’s eyes bug out. She regally ignores them.
