The battlefield demands his attention, but he still commands his troops in what has to be more of a partnership with the High General than what was intended. Part of Cody wonders if it was lonely at the top, if Kenobi was beginning to wilt like one of those small plants he seems determined to keep alive even in the depths of space.
And he wonders too - though much more carefully, placing structural controls where he’s not allowed to stray - if Cody is part of the reason he perked back up, like when those little plants finally see the light of a sun again.
