Summary
It had been years since Nico had found himself on the other side of the world, after a jump gone wrong. He had honestly thought he was past that, but it seemed nearly fading into the shadows had some unfortunately foreseen side effects. Now here he was, about to jump into a river thousands of miles away from home, so he could save a peculiar man from drowning, while a hoard of ghosts were probably booing Nico from the sidelines.
However, it seemed the fates needed a good laugh today, because now it looked like he was stuck with said drowning man for the foreseeable future, even if it was technically his own fault.

Danny is an imperfect clone and he knows things, more than he should with just the downloaded in his head, but he knows he doesn't know everything he should know. So he's not sure he wants to do as his creator asks. He seems like a weird fruitloop.

It was supposed to be an overnight stay at the hospital since they SHOT HER IN THE LEG!!! Like seriously! How did these guys still have jobs?!

Danny can’t believe he is doing it until the words stumble out of his mouth. It had to be the adrenaline or whatever else was pumped into his system or perhaps the desperation of trying not to go back to a group of people who treated him more like a thing than a person.
“Can you pretend to be my sister?” Danny hush whispered to the black-haired woman he ended up against.
The girl jumped a little in surprise at the 14-year-old suddenly coming to her with that question and grabbing her hand. Her brown eyes burrowed deep into a frown as if trying to find any hidden meaning in his words. Well…this was Gotham. She probably figured that he was about to rob her.
“Please,” Danny begged. “These guys kidnapped me two days ago, and I finally got away.”
The girl nodded silently and squeezed Danny’s hand in what he assumed was a gesture of comfort. She removed her leather jacket and ballcap and quickly helped him put them on as she guided him along the twists of the city. Danny was barely stumbling along. Everything had gone downhill so fast.
