"You sure you don't wanna join? It's gonna be a good one."
Anthony is only half-kidding with the invitation. Husk looks at the selection of whips, handcuffs, and other bondage gear laid out neatly on the vanity.
"What if I said I'm a missionary with the lights off only kind of guy?"
"Can't lie to someone who knows better," Anthony says with a laugh.
"Okay, you got me there. I'll see you tonight." Husk gives him a smile. "Try not to get too tied up with work."
"Ha ha, funny guy. See ya later."
Anthony and Husk know each other better than anyone else. They've stood by each other through thick and thin, including what should have torn them apart. As someone new enters the picture, they have to decide if this is finally the thing that breaks them. Or maybe, she brings them together instead.

Unconditional love always felt like a myth, elusive as the cryptids from Angel's favorite stories. At least, it was to him. Angel thought that love was something you earned, or paid for, always digging yourself deeper into a debt you'll never be able to repay. Love was never meant to be easy or free, especially for him.
Even though Angel always promised himself that he would never end up like his Ma, he's spent most of his life falling for the wrong kind of men. When he meets Husk, someone who challenges everything Angel knows about relationships, he isn't sure what he'll have to do to earn that kind of love.
