Summary
Perception, Garak knew, was everything. It mattered far more than truth, however one defined that slippery concept.
For example, the perception that the room was moving around him. Spinning, endlessly. It was not the truth. There was nothing wrong with the station’s gravitational orbit. He knew this, and yet the perception of it kept him pinned to the floor.
For another example, the perception that Julian had abandoned him here.

Garak's implant starts leaking pergium into his brain while Julian is off saving lives on Teplan. Fortunately, he has more friends than he realizes.

Once upon a time, Julian imagined he might do better on a planet other than Earth, that he was a sort of modern-day changeling child, abandoned on a planet he wasn't fit for.
It cut at the time that it wasn't true - it cuts all the deeper when, some years down the line, Earth sees fit to abandon him to someone else's planet after all.

For a moment, Garak’s heart leapt. He imagined a tall, thin figure emerging, perhaps dressed in Starfleet Medical gray and blue, or perhaps wearing civilian clothing. He imagined him saying, I got your letter, and I couldn’t stay away any longer. Did you mean what you said?
The door opened. The figure that emerged was short and clad in the red of the Bajoran militia, with a bag slung across her shoulder.
“Colonel Kira,” Garak said. “This is an unexpected surprise. To what do I owe the pleasure?”
Kira didn’t return his smile. “We need to talk, Garak. It’s about Julian.”

After the war, Section 31 comes after Julian. Someone really should have alerted Garak sooner, but now that he knows, he's not letting him go without a fight. Neither is Miles, Kira, or Jake, for that matter.

Daniel Jackson loves baking and he’s damn good at it. His cupcakes are the specialty of the house at Star Gate, the New York City bakery where he works. Daniel may be an omega but he has big dreams: buying Star Gate and being his own boss, independent of any alpha. Everyone knows alphas are nothing but trouble. Case in point, alpha Jack O’Neill, the gorgeous and captivating nuisance who in less than 24 hours manages to destroy all Daniel’s dreams and leave his life in shambles.
Thank goodness Daniel never slept with Jack or things would be really bad… Um, oops…?
