Here, and now, Amestrians believe that a baby should be kept indoors for its first few months–to protect their health, and their developing systems.
Hohenheim knows just enough about childhood development to question this, but not enough to truly challenge it. Time had proved him wrong before, science and understanding crawling away from him as he spent years turning over other stones. It was as if the world moved rapidly every time he blinked, blurring past him without notice.

THIS IS THE BEST HANAHAKI STORY OF ALL TIME
seriously. It just all works together so well, from the fact that the disease fits in the worldbuilding to the way the characters think about it in a cultural/practical/medical way To the way Kakashi addresses the problem like a mission. And that we're acknowledging the tragedy and romance of the concept but also that love is valuable in all its forms.
And really I can only imagine Kakshii going around telling people that he loves them if he's Literally Dying. I love how the confessions were all genuine. And that the reason it took him so long to get to Gai was because he was genuinely so emotionally numb that he wasn't sure who it was. And then out of consideration for Gai's feelings.

Objectively ridiculous in a way only mostly matched by canon. I rarely read fanfic with battles just as OP, creative and kinda gross as the actual anime source material.
I don't know what it says about me that Hanzo's self-deprecating dry wit and humanist ideals were indeed enough to make his domination of canon work as far as I'm concerned.
Maybe it just says that I, too, believe that if you're going to write a fix-it power fantasy fic, you might as well go all out.
This satisfied the 12 year old inside of me who liked reading Jules Verne and linksurfing Wikipedia's Comparative Mythology and Buddhist Cosmology sections.
